More people will side with the NCR because their armor is co

I'm curious about this too. I'm guessing you do have to fight them if you want Raul, or at the very least you can smooth-talk Tabitha into handing him over peacefully.

With at least 8 points of Charisma or over 75 % Speech Skill.

NCR for me because they have that WWII feel. If they had a Faction with Renaissance, revolutionary or civil war style clothing steam punk weapons, armor and robots, that would awesome! I think it would also fit in well with Fallout.

Edit: Now that I think of it Fallout already has a steam punk style....

Yup that's why I join factions cool toys and armour

If I help NCR it will be out of the long history of my helping them. I have been helping them since Shady Sands and they could not even stop Radscorpion attacks and were in danger from the Khans.

And now they won't be able to stand up against me and the rest of the Legion. =P

Well until I help them out in my next playthrough. XD

You mean Walt?

I don't know, if you side with him, all you're probably going to get is a mickey mouse hat, the rank of "Imagineer" and a ticket to Rapture. ;)

What?

Even though it's a morally grey choice I'm going to try to go with the "lesser of the two evils." If it turns out that NCR is not as crappy as Caeser's legion then ill side with NCR. the only thing that will stop me other than moral choices from joining them is if I cant have helios one and be on their side in the same game. If i have to make that choice then they can fry under my ray of burning judgment.

One thing i think is a factor in people choosing NCR is that in the fallout universe they are the faction that is most like the original United states government. Yes, there is in-fighting, using people to vie for power, a bit of an imperialistic streak, and other questionable practices, but they're still a government that is trying to provide a better future for the citizens of their faction.

I wonder if you'll only be able to have helios one depending on what faction you're with?

There's probably going to be non-faction armor that's better than anything the NCR or CL have so what's your point?

Well, that ranger armor with night vision is pretty cool, I'll admit. I wonder if you could just wear the helmet/mask and not have the CL shoot at you.

Am I the only one here that finds capes preferable? I'm planning to role play as the Count of Monte Cristo.

I like capes. I like the duster because it's cape like too.

But yeah, capes are cool. I just wish the game engine supported flowing, fluttering capes.

You know, I really liked NCR in Fallout 2, so I probably will end up supporting them.

Still, I wonder who's President of NCR these days. Surely not Hoss.

Personally I'm siding with the N.C.R. because
A: I hate slavers.
B: The N.C.R. is the best hope for rebuilding the world.
The fact that they have sweet equipment is a moot point since you will probably have more chances to acquire the equipment of whoever your fighting anyways.

Uhhhhhhh, Since my character is gonna go Melee, I'm going with Caesar's Legion, because they'd look sweet with a PowerFist/Super Power Fist or a Sword, which I hope they'll add xD

Personally, Caesar's Legion Armor appeals to me more. NCR's Rangers are cool, but I'd rather be with the Legion, despite being evil :

The whole thing about friendlies attacking you if you wear enemy armor complicates things. It's kind of messed up that you'd get attacked for wearing armors that you loot en mass from enemy bodies. Some armors should be probably be neutral for the sake of not pissing everyone off. Who's really going to pass up Power Armor? If the NCR attacks me for wearing T51b, the whole hostility system is just jacked up. What if you wear NCR armor with a Legion helmet? This is probably going to prove complicated.

The true Enclave are confirmed to not be in the game, so you can't join them.
(There will on the other hand be former Enclave members here and there.)

Link please?

Well where did you hear that there isn't going to be some organizational structure to these Enclave Remnants? They could still be a mini-faction.

I'm pretty sure that there will be at least some 'generic/neutral' armours ingame as well as the faction specific armours.

Back to the topic at hand, I'm not yet sure which faction I'll side with in my first playthrough other than it probably won't be the Legion as I tend not to hold with slavery.

IIRC J.E Sawyer said that when asked about the Eyebot in the trailer.
Something along the lines of "The Eyebot is going to be the only Enclave presence in New Vegas".
At the moment I do not a link to give you though.
Will search around for it later if I got the time/energy for it.

[edit]
I tried searching through NMA news archive a little but I couldn't find it.
So unless anyone else has better luck or if J.E himself want to confirm this I guess it's open for debate then.

You're in luck because the Legion have http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100905012138/fallout/images/8/88/Legion_Sword.jpg which are... sort of a sword I guess, at least they use it that way. But what with the fighting in Vegas' urban environments, it makes more sense to have something shorter.

Actually I myself remember him saying that in an interview once, I don't remember which one it could have been but I remember those exact words rather distinctly. :tops:

EDIT: @ GhostDigga:
I saw that Legion sword, We discussed it with some of the guys and we've come to the conclusion its some sort of Kukri Blade. :)

Not a Kukri, it's closer to a Falcata (though it's not exactly a Falcata. Like Sawyer said, some of the weapons are only based off of other weapons, or are an amalgam of multiple weapons). The Kukri has more of a boomerang shape as the center of the blade juts out. The Legion Sword is straight, but the head of the blade is much wider than the back of the blade, similar to the http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330382474186&rvr_id=138930291682&crlp=1_263602_263622&UA=WXS%3F&GUID=4bcbd8a912a0a02676821602fffa5b58&itemid=330382474186&ff4=263602_263622#ht_500wt_928

This one is wooden, but it's closer in design to the Legion Sword: http://www.medievalmatters.com/wooden-falcata-sword-p-901.html?zenid=30a9b5ed31f1aac77ba7e1cd0d799ee5
