Can you catch missingno in Ruby/Sapphire? I THINK NOT!

Ruby and Sapphire actually worked though. Y'know Ghost type actually did what it was supposed to :P

Every Command and Conquer after Generals, every Gran Turismo gave I have played and when I recently went back to play Command and Conquer Generals. I used to love Generals, but then I got pretty good at RTS games and started playing a loot more Age of Empires and Rise of Nations and when I finally went back to C and C it was so simple and dumbed down.

Oblivion. I tried to like it, but there was just nothing that made me want to come back to it.

Reasons, please give them.

Spoiler
No Pants
No Attributes
No Acrobatics
No Athletics
No Hand to Hand
No Medium Armor
No Unarmored
No Spears
No Crossbows
No Throwing Weapons
No Spell Creation
Not Enough Ring and Amulet Slots
Not Enough Character Customization
Horrid UI
Unplayable PC port and constant CTD's
Dragons where way too easy
Weird Level Scaling
Combat mechanics

Graphics where pretty nice though.

I'm hard to please :(

Spoiler
Bad UI: Everything from the archaic item organization to the flashy yet dysfunctional map.

Short and underwhelming quests: Like some have mentioned, skyrim lets you dip your feet in an ultimately shallow faction pool. The mainquest was pretty bad too. I think its a combination of poor story telling (becoming Dragonborn should take time) and unintelligent marketing.

Customization: Removing things like rings, pants and facial slider features is a huge disappointment. Even though the new face models in this game are a major breakthrough in comparison to Oblivion and Fallout 3, most of the females look the same with the hair being a major factor that differentiates the two. The hair models look really bad in this game. It was one of my biggest concerns with Fallout 3 -- as the hair looked really flat and poorly textured, and its gotten even worse with Skyrim

I could elaborate more but I feel like people won't read this.

Skyrim should've waited till 12.12.12 They got a little crazy with their marketing and in result produced a game that tries to do so many things, but doesn't do any one thing that well. The great thing about modders is that each of them focuses on one of Bethesda's visions and makes it the best it can be. And maybe this is the reason I was disappointed with Skyrim -- I expected it to be as rich and fulfilling as a modded Oblivion.

And this.

And this.

Also

Destruction was broken and dosent scale.
Mage guild quest around 6 missions, from learning firebolt to archmage.
Werewolves dont scale (try playing one at higher levels)
Scaling.
Pointless and lifeless towns, looking at you winterhold.
Essential npcs, essential npcs everywhere.
Lack of options e.g everyone knows about the thives guild, but no option to do anything about them.
Bethesda attempting moraly grey choices. "do want svcky option #1, or svck option #2". Choosing between having you teeth pulled out without anesthetic or kicked in the balls by a kangaroo would not be a moraly grey choice.
"radient story" I got sent to the same damn cave 3 times.
"random" dragon attacks *glances at 5 dragon corpses at college of winterhold*
Why is dragonplate armour WORSE than deadric despite needing more smithing ?

Atleast the music was good.

Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow after playing Ruby and Sapphire.

You cut me deep with that :cold:
They (Red/Blue/Yellow) were the best Pokemon games ever, partly because they're the originals and they just look awesome compared to the newer ones.

Ruby and Sapphire actually worked though. Y'know Ghost type actually did what it was supposed to :P

Which was...?

Another disappointing game for me was Medal Of Honor, I liked it for a while and then it just felt clunky and slow, and I could never enjoy the campaign I got to like the 3rd level and quit.

The only games that have really disappointed me are Fable 2 and 3. I fell to the hype for both of them and they didn't deliver on that hype. Marvel vs Capcom 3 was as good as I hoped, then the disappointment came in when Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 was announced under a month after I bought the game and that all of the excuses they used to not put in certain characters (Frank West caused too much lag and would be too hard to make, Ghost Rider would need his bike at all times, Phoenix Wright would be too useless as a character e.t.c) turned out to be complete lies.

Psychic moves were super effective on the ghost type
Ghost type moves were not super-effective on psychic types
Mewtwo was the most broken Pokemon ever

I could go on and on with my complaints of Red/Blue/Yellow, but they're basically released betas.

There was only 2 Ghost moves from Gen.1, and most ghost types knew most psychic moves which is super effective againist psychic pokemon meaning there's no real need for Ghost moves anyway.
How was MewTwo broken? Apart from being genetically made an turning evil?
I always thought those looked good, still do. http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/c/ca/Spr_1b_149.png and http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/2/2c/Spr_1b_009.png
The graphics from then were great for their time but now they just look like, meh, maybe I just prefer the retro graphics :)

Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow after playing Ruby and Sapphire.

Crikey, some people don't know they're born.

Anyway, as I said in the last thread (about 2 weeks ago) I'd say Doom 3. It was a good game, and it scared the crap out of me for the first hour, but it gets too predictable too quickly. Unlike the first two Dooms, it has minimal replay value as well.

I'd also give a dishonourable mention to Far Cry 2 as well.

I'd have to go with C&C 3 + Kane's Wrath.
OR! The first RA after the after the Aftermath and Counter-Strike expansion missions.

I enjoyed C&C 3, but I never did get Kane's Wrath. I'll have to try it out some time.

Wow, reading the complaints against Skyrim just makes me angry. I guess it's to be expected, but some of the complaints are kind of baseless. I don't want to put any energy into arguing about it though so whatever.

OT - Another game I was sort of disappointed with was Bioshock 2. It was pretty fun overall, but I prefer the original.

I'm usually quite an easy gamer to please, so it's really saying something when I say that Fable 3 was the worst sequel I have ever had the misfortune of playing. It's like Lionhead decided to take all the fun things out of the game and turn them into pure garbage. I did like the new voice actors and the story was better than Fable 2, but the gameplay was so very much inferior that it was hard to notice at times.

I'm not saying that Fable 3 is a bad game. Just that Fable 2's gameplay was so very much better.

Grrrrr people complaining about broken destuction, resulting in a character redo make me rage.

Complaints are nott baseless, skyrim has many dull quests, the guilds are rushed, underdeveloped, hell the thives guild requires no actual stealing/stealth. And scaling, well http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/comics/critical-miss/9245-Critical-Miss-Skyrim-Tales a webcomic. The game punishes people for not focusing on combat skills. Sure some "no spears" are petty, but skyrim has many flaws and was clearly rushed.

Wow, wow. hold on. What was wrong with Alan wake ? What were you expecting, I thought the forests got kind of dull, but gameplay was good, writing was great, and overall its a great game imo. Give reasons, because if Alan Wake is the most dissapointing game you have played then damn I want to know yourfavorites.

What's broken about destruction? I've been playing as a mage character with no trouble at all.

I wouldn't go as far as to say I was disappointed, though I did prefer the original too. I think part of it was Bioshock 2's enforced linearity: even though I seldom chose to go back to old areas in Bioshock, it was nice knowing that I could (or at least nice thinking that I could, anyway!)

I'm not saying Skyrim is perfect, but there a lot of interesting characters to meet, and most of the quests I've done have been exciting and interesting. That webcomic was really funny, but it's not like every enemy you meet is level scaled. It's always a mix up between low level enemies, and high level enemies.

Frankly, I am impressed at the level of work that was put into Skyrim.

And I played Alan Wake, but never finished it. Just wasn't interested in it at the time, but maybe I'll give it another go in the future.

The only type super-effective to psychic in generation 1 was bug, there were only three damaging bug type moves in the entire game, and none of them had more than 50 attack power

How was MewTwo broken? Apart from being genetically made an turning evil?

Mewtwo had 154 special (the highest in the game), had a speed stat of 130 (only surpassed by electrode and tied with by jolteon and aerodactyl)
