Mysterious Traveler (spoiler)

Here he is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v80gUzq6Ec8&list=PL5AD940AFA5E82598&index=17&feature=plpp_video

THAT'S THE MOTHER FRACKER!!!!

Interesting how he didn't sneak into any houses, & murder anyone. He just stood there, until the PC got too close, & then turned hostile. And only towards the PC.

He did the same thing to me. I was in Solitude and was making my way home, as I was passing by the cart market( just after Bits and pieces ) I noticed a man dressed in hooded black robes but didn't think anything of it. As we drew closer I could see that his gloves had steel finger tips, then I noticed that he was trying to keep his face hidden, as we started to cross paths our eyes meet and it was instantly apparent that he was a vampire, so he sprang into attack mode. I was over weight by 200lbs and was unable to move very fast which compounded the situation. Luckily though enough of the towns guard noticed him as well and aided in the defense of Solitude, it was a very well done and it was enough to keep me out of every city / town unless I REALLY had to go in. This was on my Dawnguard toon, I have yet to bump into the traveler on my vampire toon.

Cool. So that's how it looks like... Once I'll get to Fort Dawnguard, I'm not ever coming out! Also, thanks to these attacks, city guards are finally getting a purpose.

i agree. I haven't really looked into this MT. But, people need to stop the whining over a little freedom of having NPC's killed. It's actually one of the first things i've heard in a while that makes Skyrim immersive.

There is nothing realistic or immersive about merchants abandoning all thoughts of self preservation and going off to attack a Master Vampire and his Death Hounds.

I wonder since he can kill quest npcs if he kills aela and you haven't completed the companions questline if that ruins the quest line?

I've been trying to tell people for a while now that he can't lurk about in cells you're not even in, & murder people. And that he just behaves exactly as he did in that video.
Wandering about non-hostile, until the the PC closes in. Maybe now that there's video proof people will listen.

And yeah, the guards actually get to do some guarding now. Which is nice.

I used to be an NPC like you, then I took a MT bite in the knee.

To be fair, all those people saying he's only ever just stood there, I've seen him do both. First time I saw him he had already killed a few people inside some buildings, but this last time I saw him in Markarth he was standing near the Underkeep.

Seems simple enough. Patch in a flee response for NPCs that shouldn't be fighting. I know if I saw some crooks shooting it out with the police, I would get the hell out of there.

So we have definite encounters when you join the vampire side? That doesn't make much sense, especially if he treats you as pray; what, do vampires feed on each other now? In my VL play-through I have yet to encounter him once though I have been in cities during a vampire attack but I was left alone and usually some poor guard is slain before they take down the vampire.

Also, this made me laugh my ass off. Though it appears he's using a vampire mod but is still part of the Dawnguard?

I like the idea of the random attacks and npcs dying in cities I just can't understand why they don't respawn new npc to fill the city back up. Dungeons respawn after 30 days or so why not do the same with citizens? Yeah sure its a little more work because you have to name them but come on how hard can it really be.....

I've crossed paths with the MT only once in my travels in Whiterun after exiting breeze home. He kicked my level 29 imperial battle mages ars with a swiftness. But I haven't been witness to any large scale assassination as of yet.

I've never experienced this in 30 ish hours of dawnguard amd i've only had two vampire city attacks.

I travel to cities often, but I never fast travel, so the problem goes away.

I like the sound of this MT though.

I heard that he can actually enter your real house when the Xbox is powered off and steal your bank details and/or car. The only known fix for this at the moment is driving a manual because he svcks at using the clutch. . .

Seriously, guys, this is getting blown way out of frame. He can't do anything in a cell that your machine hasn't loaded, so he's not sneaking into houses and murdering people when you're not around. He only becomes hostile when the PC gets close, and he's never put up much of a fight.
