New Companion In Primm

Post » Sun Jan 30, 2011 3:45 am

You could replace most of them in the game with a small rock, they have about the same amount of personality.

Seriously, the only interesting thing about companions in FO3 was devising colorful new ways to kill him (see telling Jericho to wait in the middle of impending doom moments before the orbital bombardment on Liberty Prime in Broken Steel).

Well, Fawkes and Dogmeat are okay with me, infact, Dogmeat was pretty awesome but the rest can go fall off a cliff.

Hmm. Only known "its" I know are Victor and Rex.

And, it's not them; I believe. So, I suppose no one has found em at all, or we are overlooking something obvious.

Could be anyone in Primm. It's the perfect hiding place with all of those Escaped Convicts running around. Someone had to have found them. Now we just have to find THEM so they can tell us who the companion is. Or J.E. Sawyer could just tell us out of the kindness of his heart

Is it someone we've seen in some of the media released so far? Should we do a wheres Waldo version of Fallout with the trailers and screenshots?

I hunger for knowledge!

I think it's a mounted turret in a wheelchair that the PC can drag with him.
Or maybe the PC can go crazy there and start talking to a coconut.

Or that could atleast be what happens you start tripping on Jet.

Having some drug related random encounters would be fun.

"Is that a talking brahmin with a sniper rifle wearing a beret?"

I like to believe that Sawyer wants to tell us, but the corporate goons at Bethesda are stopping him.

Now that's funny.

Edit: I guess what that means ladies and gentlemen, is that Josh is confirming that "it" is an it. Not a he or a she.

Not really, from what I gather he's just saying that he'd use "it" rather than "them" as a gender neutral term because he doesn't like using "them". So that means that whoever the companion in Primm is could still be a he or a she unless Sawyer's not trying to be gender neutral and it really is an it. It could be a robot, it could be a Super Mutant, it could be a dog, or considering that its a town filled with escaped convicts it could be the Hanged/Burned Man or someone or something else entirely. All we really know for sure is that there's a companion who hasn't been revealed yet in Primm. I do have a feeling that it's an 'evil' companion however.

I like to believe that Sawyer wants to tell us, but the corporate goons at Bethesda are stopping him.

I find that hard to believe since the companion is in the demo. Unless of course previewers have actually stumbled across the companion and are intentionally withholding that information because Bethesda said so. Why would Bethesda forbid the developers from revealing anything shown in a demo?

Based on my experiences in with "dev quotes" in the past, they don't discuss something unless someone else found it first, then they simply provide clarification. The only time they provide new information, is if it is A-Okay'd from the PR department.
