New Info from PSN's Qore!

Quick correction: it's two traits. I don't know why I said three in the interview.

Maybe it was still in flux when I did that...who knows. It was E3. I was lucky I could remember my name. :)

It happens... thanks for the clarification.

BTW, we can't link directly to YouTube versions of the Qore video. You're welcome to discuss it because it's out there, but I have to be a stickler on this... sorry.

okay there was a shotgun in the video that had a drum magazine, but it didnt look like the combat shotgun...more like a striker. is this the riot shotgun?

It basically looked exactly like the http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/ithaca37hs.jpg except it has a drum behind the the slide action, looked really awesome. :tops:

Can't wait to see what other weapons Obsidian has in store for us. ;)

EDIT: I'm thinking the drum magazine may just be a mod for the Ithaca (AKA Pump-Action Shotgun)

Because I still don't fully understand Wild Wasteland trait. I don't worry much about it as I once did. I don't know if I need it to have the FO2 style humor with pop culture references or is that humor there but the trait just makes you a weirdness magnet and speeds up the rate you encounter special encounters. Or I could be away off not sure.

With three traits I would not be so handicapped.

It (Wild Wasteland) is just like Bloody Mess in the originals - or so I've undestood it - no "actual" benefits or drawbacks, just a curiosityeffect, and a nice one at that. All the traits with their drawbacks in the originals didn't always suit my character build so I happily picked Bloody Mess, and that's what I'm going to do with Wild Wasteland too. So, in effect, I don't see the problem here. More than making one handicapped, it offers some relief from the burden of choosing the right second trait (if one has any difficulties in picking, that is).

And the way I see it, too much aid in the beginning can be harmful too even with the drawbacks.

What is Fallout doing with Sony?? I would've never guessed this to happen to the PS3.

Anyway the game looks like it has some cool new animations.

the way I understand it is if you select Weird Wasteland you get encounters you would not get if you did not have it.

The plus side is you get the weird encounters,
the minus side is the 80 foot terantula. . .

(note I do not know if theres any actual references to the Wild Wild West movie in Fallout New Vegas, just pointing out what the downside could be to Wild Wasteland . . .)

Through even more prodding observations, I have found that there are two new skyscraqers in addition to the ones we already know from the Strip, along with the Strip actually being divided into three cells. I hope that means the Strip will be even more populated, even with generic NPCs. Illusion of population Effa Tee DoubleU!

Well Lucky 38 is definitely one. In my own terms the Gommorah, Ace's Theatre, and the Ultra-luxe are considered skyscraqers in the sense that they stand out compared to the rest of the slums. I think towers would be a more appropriate term. But the two new "towers" I mentioned seem to border the cell which contains Vault 21 and the Ultra-luxe. One of them is topped with a half-pyramid, and the other one has old timey architecture. You can briefly see them during the CGI intro scenes with the NCR sniper and the Kaiser's Legion.

I like how they showed the inside of Lucky 38 in the opening video. Also the drunk NCR soldiers waving their flags on the strip. I'd rather not play the slots to watch the end video if that is really the ending. Love that Desert Armor.

ok earn the prizes again outa boredome.
end game: sirens blair, nuke hits the strip behind your machine screen goes black, says 1 month later, then shows the scene of victor digging you out of your grave.
ala althou not quite correct, it means in 1 month we will be revived!

ok this part i just gota explain warning super spoilers if you don't want to know the intro.
bonus footage:
Spoiler
is most probably the entire opening scene. it starts at a poster in the lucky 38 shows a rather dead inside 38 then goes outside shows a drunk ncr dancing in the street, zooms out to the ncr shooting the raider, zooms out to legion members scouting ? new vegas, zooms out to benny and some hired thugs, one digging a grave and you laying in the dirt tied up unconscious.
one hired goon says pay up and benny tells him to calm down.
you wake up and one hired goon mentions your waking up.
benny comments, and another goon says kill him already, benny says he maybe a con shoots someone without looking him in the face, i aint no fink.
Spoiler
benny talks about your bad luck pulls the platinum chip out and says this is your last/final delivery.

Spoiler
says you feel like you just had 28karot bad luck? well
puts chip back and takes out a pistol.

Spoiler
Spoiler
the game was rigged from the start
raises it while talking and shoots you after saying from the start.

I used lots of spoiler tags so don't complain.

Im sure its just a comparison to point out just how poor your perception is and that you wont actually be deaf.

Although that would be pretty funny, and the perfect tradeoff for you pushing your PER so low ~ You cant see past your hands, and nor can you hear! :P

I finally downloaded and played the Qore episode last night.

The bonus footage reward from the slot machine mini game was awesome, a bit spoilerific but nothing that hasn't already been spoiled through these forums. ;)

I love the pre-rendered cut-scene, hopefully there's more throughout the game because I don't recall any from FO3...

The "endgame" reward was sort of a disappointment, because it was similar footage to (basically a shorter version of) the original NV teaser trailer.

I also have a bunch of new NV wallpapers thanks to the rewards and the ability to make wallpapers from the still photos. :)

I suppose 2 traits instead of three is OK, as long as there isn't like dozens to work with, thus making it hard to pick just two. Besides, traits have a "downside" so 2 is probably perfect. I think the Wild Wasteland trait will definitely be one of my starting character's traits...
