New Info from PSN's Qore!

Post » Sun Jan 23, 2011 7:25 pm

The PSN video service Qore (Core) has new info on New Vegas, here's what I got.

- A pre-rendered video shows the NCR soldier with the trenchcoat shooting the Anti-materiel Rifle at a raider while using the Vegas sign as cover.
- The video of the player getting shot, the dialogue is
Spoiler
"You've made your last delivery kid. Sorry you got twisted up in this scene. (Benny shoots the player, the camera pans up, Benny lights a cigeratte, one of his goons is digging your grave)

- Video of player approaching the strip at night, wearing tan clothing with the Lever-Action Shotgun holstered on his back. At the gates to the Strip, the gun is now the M1 Garand look-alike.
- Part of Vault 21's interior is shown, it looks like a pristine vault in FO3, there is a pool table, a Nuka-Cola and Sunset Sarsipella machine.
- A scoped semi-automatic rifle, which may be the "Camouflaged rifle" is shown shooting feral ghouls.
- The Heavy Incinarator is shown while approaching an old mill.
- Perception rank titles:
10: Eagle with Telescope
9: Sniper Hawk
8: Monocled Falcon
7: Big-eyed Tiger
6: Alert Coyote
5: Wary Trout
4: Unspecting Trout
3: Squinting Newt
2: Senile Mole
1: Deaf Bat
- New Shotgun with a drum magazine, semi auto. Could be a weapon mod.
- Offical name for the Reptille Dogs: Nightstalkers, which are Rattlesnake Dogs.
- The Incendiary Grenades are shown launching someone into the air, above a street light.
- Location outside of the Strip, Thorn, a small playground with the Lucky 38 visible in the background.
-New concept art of the NCR Ranger with the trenchcoat, one shows a spade on the right shoulder of the armour.

EDIT: The slot machine minigame on the New Vegas section has four prizes, a New Vegas wallpaper for 300 chips (the strip concept art), a wasteland wallpaper for 300 chips (another concept art), Bonus Footage for 300 chips, which is the pre rendered video of the beggining of the game, and Endgame for 2000 chips, which I will not watch just based on it's title.

It's available on the Playstation Store for $2.99 USD, or free if you have Playstation Plus.

I'm wondering how much longer I can continue to frequent these boards without utterly ruining the game for myself. I've already got 2 pretty good theories (popular theories on this board) as to what the deal with House is, I know who kills the Courier, I know what is in the package....yet I still can't stop coming here.

I have a problem and I'm helpless to solve it. I need a higher power's help.

aditional info

there is a slot machine game with 2 backgrounds, a bonus video, and end game as rewards.
they cost money and you play to build up the money. the bonus video is some of the opening scene of the game, i think. if you don't want spoilers do not watch this.
end game... well i'm not completely sure what it is, it takes some time to build up 2k to buy it then when you do a siren blares a rocket takes off and a nuke hits in the background of new vegas and the a bunch of things on the machine break, then it blacks out to the scene of victor digging then as it get farther away it goes back to the slot machine with the glass panels on the prize machine broken and the gauge for switching between the 2 broken.

It seems that we've reached the point where every newsbit is news too much, as there is nothing new to tell that wouldn't take away from the initial excitement or be a spoiler.

You SEE it within the first few seconds of the game. The catastrophic spoilerz that are being revealed are pretty much all established either within the intro voice-over, or the intro cinematic. It really isn't a big deal. At all. Really.

The super mutant that appears shortly after the host says "Mine" looks, different (in a good way). Is it just me, or is he wearing armor made entirely out of tires and a pair of Aviator sunglasses?

Also: Gecko running animation is amazing and Matthew Perry turns in some VERY solid voice work.

Agreed, a fellow Fallout fan AND he does sound different (I was worried he'd sound exactly like he did in friends) which is pretty good. So far, I have no criticism of F:NV yet. Lets hope it stays that way.
