New Sim City?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 7:55 am

I hope the new SimCity does the series justice. Sim Societies was a horrid flop and its better left forgotten I played it for all of about an hour and the whole time I was playing it I thought I might vomit. I hope the new one is a true successor to SimCity4 and it gives us the city building tools and the structure to make your whole city work. I am eagerly hoping and anticipating a Sim City 5. Regardless what they say its still SimCity 5.
I actually didn't dislike Societies. I think that it's an okay game as long as you don't think of it as a Simcity game and think of it as something more in line with something like Tropico.

Must be a mindset, I went in with the SimCity mindset and I was completely underwhelmed.

"Images not representative of gameplay."

Says it all really. I'll wait for the reviews, but for now Sim City 4 is still the best it gets. :P

Hopefully its decent, right now I been playing Open TDD which is actually better then SC4 and its free in my opinion anyways.

The thing that did annoy me the most of Sim City 4 is how clunky and slow it was to switch regions the regions themselves were not that large and unless you flatten them completely had various issues laying roads/zones/monuments/public areas/etc.

Making a shore for a beach and a dock was the most annoying thing I ever did because there is just a pin point accuracy especially if you wanted it in a certain area and the level ground option was quite useless because it would be too high or too low. Hopefully its a lot smoother around the edges in these regards.

As a side note, I started playing Sim City when I was in school for a nation wide competition for futuristic/high revenue/clean cities for future something so I literally played Sim CIty 3000 in school for a grade :P
