Uh, you really shouldn't post that link, as anyone on these forums gets access to your profile through it.

Why don't you get started on learning how to use the GECK for Fallout 3, and by the time NV comes out, you'll know it well enough make the mod (or make it for Fallout 3 and transfer).

Is that a "Glitter-Boy (girl)" powersuit? (from RIFTS?)
 I posted this question before reading the full post.

I have not seen a tutorial for this anywhere (and I've asked everywhere).
I am currently meddling with my of version of what you want to do (different armor). Its not really that hard, its just tedious.
Before you can make use of any tutorial, you'll have to master (or reasonably acquaint yourself with) a 3d modeling package.
(like 3dStudio;Maya;SoftImage/Modtool;http://www.blender.org/;Truespace ~though I don't recommend TS for working with Nifs).

There are tutorials on the nexus for importing objects into Fallout 3, but none (that I have found) for original armor.
There are however tutorials for doing this in Oblivion (and that's a really good place to start).

I recommend you familiarize yourself with the other modding tools you'll need for that Power Armor: Nifskope, Blender, and GIMP. The GECK is the easy part, and it can wait until the game is released; in the meantime, you can use FO3 and its GECK to test your meshes and textures to make sure they work as expected; I don't think there's significant enough changes in the game engine to invalidate your work.

Modeling: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Portal:Modeling
Texturing: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Portal:Texturing

Don't complain that it's from the Oblivion wiki. The fundamentals are the same.

Good luck... I would love to see a Glitterboy.

In actual fact we should be Encouraging folks to start FONV mods as soon as they are ready, as there are a Ton of things we can do outside of the GECK to get ready for the day when we can add them in. Stuff like Designing the mod, Modeling, Texturing, Scripting, layout, etc, etc, etc. The GECK is only required when it's time to glue everything together into the game.

Also, many of us are looking forward to converting our mods from Fo3 to NV that is within the law and rules about not sharing content between two games. Fortunately for some of us, alot of the same models/textures from Fo3 (mostly common and architecture objects) are exactly the same in NV as they are in Fo3. This makes it possible for us to even convert cells over (where the objects are in both games), which wont be 100% but should be close-enough to then finish/fix it up using other NV objects, all within the rules that Bethesda and Obsidian lay out for modding.

So there is MUCH work for the modding community to do, and no reason to delay on getting ready - I know I am.

The problem with designing mods early is that, for the most part, we have very little idea what NV will actually have. It'd be awfully inconvenient to add, say, a Marcus the Mutant companion mod if Marcus turns out to be one of the companions included in NV vanilla.

True... but it depends on the mod ~one's own mesh might better.

I can't help you with Blender, other than to suggest you go through some tutorials. I tried that myself and couldn't keep my attention on it.

Which Blender? 2.49b or 2.53 beta? (most tutorials will utilize Blender 2.44 to 2.49)

(I believe it and some scripts are python version specific...)

You also need the Nifscripts and Nofskope.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/niftools/files/

As I mentioned before, I have yet to find a tutorial for what you want to do... So you will have to grasp the gist of it from unrelated material. Familiarize yourself with basic Blender tutorials first.
(seriously expect that to take a month, even though you may have great progress in the short term, and get a lot done).

There is no "Make photo 3d!" button. You have to sculpt it yourself.
