Shape Shifting = Lycanthropy?
No, no, no. The Companions technically are Shape Shifters, but normal Lycanthropy forces them to transform on full moons, but any other day they can transform at will once or twice a day.

This topic is worn to death... There are quite a few threads about transformations, twilight, were-lions, were-tigers, and were-bears... oh my. Kinda hoping they'll move on from were... things.

I dunno, I mean- I've been playing my game into the ground, enjoying lycanthropy and vampirism and all that so don't get me wrong- it's been fun. But I just feel like I'm playing Castlevania a bit... Elder Scrolls covers a range of fantasy on almost every level and in every direction--- But lately, it just seems like it's a game about werewolves and vampires.

See I don't get that feeling at all because in vanilla Skyrim we didn't have nearly as many quests that involved vampires as we did in Oblivion, and werewolves were/are a joke. I don't think vampires got what they needed spotlight wise, even if Bethesda did make horrible design choices, I think it was the right move. Now they just need to add in werebears, and I don't care if it is just as simple as adding them to the wild and letting us contract the disease. They also need to give lunar transformations back.

I agree I've been wanting werebears ever since I've read On Lycanthropy and I was very disappointed when Skyrim came out and they were not in the game.

The transformation from one thing into another... basically plays the same all across the board, whether it be a bear, a vampire lord, a werewolf, or a jack rabbit. If we've seen one, we've seen it all.

With that logic we might as well just have swords as the only weapons since the exact the same animations as axes and maces. Some of us care about the lore and are disappointed when it isn't followed.

I don't understand how a Vamp Lord, Werewolf, and a Werebear are all the same!!?? The Vampire Lord has magic and levitates, a Werewolf has speed and some what easy to kill (but with sneak would be more of an "assassin" and a Werbear a slow but super powerful very hard to kill "tank"!! So please explain to me please how they're the same and play the same because they sound very different to me.

I just get tired of people saying "O day wil be da same pley same and o yeh wearturkeys"

Because they never put up a good point on how they will be the same or play the same and eventually end up derailing the topic.

Me too. I understand that the idea of other werecreatures other than wolf might be seen as silly but hey Bethesda came up with idea. We just want them to expand on them. Not too much ask...right?

Yeah, I admit I'm a little too defensive about werebears, but some arguments people bring up about werebears can apply to any other topic on this forum.
