I'm glad Columbus didn't get the 1st pick. Howson is an idiot. Looks like Edmonton is building their next great dynasty though with another number 1 pick.

Also, did anyone else see the Bryzgalov interview where, when asked what he was worried about from the Pens, he replied "I'm not scared of anything. Just a bear in the woods" with a perfectly serious face?

Yea...poor Columbus anyway. I'm not sure what others think, but I know Yakupov is good, but not that good.

And I didn't see that. But I do know that http://i.imgur.com/Sca83.gif.

Lucky Oilers. 1st overall three years in a row now (assuming they don't trade it (hopefully to Columbus, that would actually be kinda funny)).

Let's see if the Oil can actually keep any of these guys, presuming they're even superstars at the NHL level and not your average high pick bust. They tend not to spend like, say, the Penguins have.

West
Canucks vs. Kings- Canucks in 6

Blues vs.Sharks- Sharks in 7

Coyotes vs. Blackhawks- Blackhawks in 6

Predators vs. Red Wings- Red Wings in 6

East
Rangers vs. Senators- Rangers in 5

Bruins vs. Capitals- Bruins in 6

Panthers vs. Devils- Devils in 5

Penguins vs. Flyers- Flyers in 6

Surprisingly the "professional" at NHL.com are in favor of the Pens. 11/16 of them picked the Pens to beat the Flyers and 10/16 picked the Pens to win it all. Maybe I was watching a different NHL but what the [censored] are they thinking. Did these guys really value that last game of the year so heavily? Flyers handled the Pens this year and have handled them in their new stadium. Flyers are clearly the better team as long as the Bryz from March shows up and even if he doesn't they still should beat them.

In their eyes, it's pretty simple: The Penguins are probably to most talented team in the NHL. The problem is, it isn't THAT SIMPLE. The most-talented team doesn't always win.

I stand by my earlier statement. If the Penguins manage to somehow get by the Flyers without any major injuries, they have a great shot at winning it all; however, they face their toughest match-up in Round 1 and could easily be knocked out. I'm not saying they would breeze past all the other teams. It's just that the Flyers seem to have the Penguins' number.

They probably didn't consider their regular season series at all, and instead just looked at the teams themselves and their overall stats.

TSN also picked the Penguins winning the cup finals against the Canucks. I haven't seen Maggie the Monkey's predictions from them in a few years, but hilariously she was better than the panelists.

It's all for fun though, don't take this too seriously.

Check out the http://espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs/2012/story/_/id/7772345/experts-picks It's funny because the only writers who picked the Flyers are the two who write for Boston. Boston is the only place that respects the Flyers more than the Pens.

They retired her after the 2009 playoffs, unfortunately.

I miss that monkey :( put the entire panel (sans Pierre because he's a demi-god of sorts) to shame.

What is Florida doing with their goalies after their season is over? (Presumably after the NJ series... Or not. I see they have a chance to win that one.) They will lift Markstr?m, right? Clemmensen, who has been a great backup once again without anyone really noticing, is in his contract year, while Theodore still has one year left. What do you think? Do they sign Clemmy and trade Theodore? Or do they just let Clemmy go? I guess the playoffs will pretty much decide these goalies' fate.

If they don't resign Clemmy, there would be a good goalie for Tampa, providing Roloson will retire. Then they'd have two equally good starter/backup goalies. :P

I think they sign Clemmy and roll with him. Get rid of Theodore. But seriously, I wouldn't overlook Florida in the first round. They're a pretty good team. And I'm not in love with the Devil's depth either. Ilya plays 25 mins a game. Damn.

Gotta love how the refs make up for one bad call by making another.

Oh wait it doesn't make up.. it makes them look stupid.

My wife made me turn the speakers down so I'm not sure who left the Wings/Preds game, sounded like they said Radulov.. if so that's a huge hit to the Preds.

Ok not Radulov I'm hearing Helm on the Wings. :(

Terriblejob by the refs so far. Briere was clearly offside and Coburn clearly touched up for the icing on the Pens last goal. Then Adams delivers a hit up high after the whistle to Schenn and doesn't get called. Rinaldo did the same thing earlier during play and got the penalty.

I have enjoyed watching Schenn tossing people around though.

Agreed.

The Penguins are sloppy with the puck. They're lucky Fleury has stopped the Flyers from scoring more. The game could easily be tied right now.

Refs making really odd and obscure calls against the Wings but the Preds have been playing pre-lockout era clutch and grab on Wings dump-ins without any calls. o.O

Preds have been on the power play much of this game. The Preds should be winning this game easily, especially with a lengthy 5 on 3 but aren't.

LOL, and now the Preds score on a fluke goal from the blue line that was tipped around the faceoff circle.

This is why I like watching the playoffs at my dads. We have two t.v.'s set up so I don't miss things when I have to switch between games!
