Yeah the Wings/Preds series will be one decided simply by which Red Wings team shows up. The Preds don't stand much a chance if the Wings team that showed up later in the 3rd period of the Wings/Blues game shows up, or like that of the last Wings/Preds series. The Blues team are quite a surprise this season but I'm very very sceptical of them in the playoffs. I don't think they make it past the semifinals. Two teams that generally perform better of late in the playoffs are the Sharks and Hawks. The Canucks will be a tough team again. The East is interesting too.. Flyers, Penguins, Bruins. The Penguins have the skill ability to beat anyone, but are riddled with horrendous inconsistency and have shown to falter against physical teams like the Flyers and Bruins. The Rangers have more to prove than anyone else in the playoffs, finishing so highly in the reg season and without a doubt they're the running favourites to be the first down in an upset, but that wouldn't be much of an upset since everyone would see it coming. Panthers.. if they do play the Devils which looks very likely, I see them bowing out, but expectations for them were already low.
If the playoffs started today, or with the standings this morning, the series' I think would be most exciting are:
(4) Penguins vs. (5) Flyers
(4) Wings vs. (5) Predators
(1) Canucks vs. (8) Sharks
The Rangers vs. Caps actually does favour the Rangers without a doubt, but if the Sabres can squeeze in and push the Caps out, they have plenty of upset potential.. they both have pretty difficult finishing games, Sabres have Flyers/Bruins left, Caps have Panthers/Rangers. Too bad the Jets are eliminated, their remaining games are nice.
