Snow Elves are not a Solstheim thing tough... nor it seems to be important in any way to them. Only the final battle against the Nords happened there.

True. But i dont think Red Mountain had any effect on Solstheims climate. It's to far away.

The eruption had an impact on Winterhold (the great collapse) and Solstheim is closer to the red mountain and could thereby have been effected more.

Snow Elves are not a Solstheim thing tough... nor it seems to be important in any way to them. Only the final battle against the Nords happened there.

There are two other possible locations:
- Atmora - descendants of the Falmer slaves may live there. The land may be too cold for Nords now but maybe not for the Snow Elves
- Depths of the Blackreach... you know, the place from where these Falmer in TES5 came from (no, they were not always there... else nobody would believe they went extinct). This is the most likely option if we get Snow Elves (it is possible that not every Snow Elf was corrupted by the Dwemer gene manipulation)
- some other northern island

Because many people want to visit NEW places, not revisit the old.

Atmora seems interesting but I dont think the climate is very suiting. Even more snow and ice... Yuk..

Alright seems like a good time to release the info :smile:

I am convinced the dlc will not take place on solstheim, I highly doubt that there will even be a new landmass, possibly some new underground tunnels and stuff.

I have to say, I'm also in this camp. I think I remember reading that Beth wants to work on expanding the existing game before adding new landmasses - I think we'll probably get new weapons, armours, quests, npc's and locations, but all within Skyrim's existing borders. Expect new landmasses to be added in later DLC's.

Because they released to GameInformer and other sites via their Twitter account (I think...) that they'd be releasing info on the DLC today.

Sure, it probably affected all of Tamriel in a way or another, but i dont think it completely changed the climate. But who knows.

Akavir deserves its own game tbh... a simple DLC can't do that rich land justice IMO

Because it has been confirmed by Bethesda it will be out today.
