Operation: Beijing

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 1:54 am

Aiden would rush to the Vertibird and retrieve his beloved rifle, petting it affectionately before throwing it over his shoulder. He'd then retrieve his nickle-plated Colt M1911 .45 pistol, the words "Semper Fidelis" engraved across the grip. The pistol belonged to his father, an ex-marine.

He'd then make sure all of his weapons were loaded and in working condition, finally retrieving the grenades last and clipping them onto his flak jacket.

Aiden would then turn to his CO and nod, wondering what their orders were. "Alright sir, we landed in one piece and got our gear. What's the next step?"

Aron looked at Max, giving him a cold glare before he trotted in to the clearing. He found his gatling gun in a lone crate along with his pistol. He stacked up on ammo and stimpaks. He felt good to have his Gatling back. The gun felt safe and secure at his hip. He holstered his pistol and helped unpack food and supplies. He grabbed a few insta mashes at the time. He was a heavy eater, and rations weren't his favorite stuff. When he finished he sat down and made sure his gun was working properly. It was, and he smiled. "Just like old times, eh, big girl." he said to his gun.

Max walked over to the crates. He spotted a nice walnut stocked M14 Rifle, and quickly grabbed it. He looked at the slide and checked the chamber, and grabbed some magazines for it. Max looked around, and saw a 1911 resting in another smaller crate, along with some grenades. He stepped over to the Captain.

"Where to?"

Adam stood facing his squad, who were sitting in a circle around him and the Vertibird.

"Okay boys here's the plan. We have an hour to rest, then the Vertibirds are gonna take off and go home. While the Chinese think we're retreating, we'll sneak into the Chinese tunnel systems and come out under Beijing. Then, we'll take the city and hold it until our T-51bs arrive. Simple plan, but there's a whole lot of risk. So rest up, I'm going to need you at 100 percent in 58 minutes."

((OOC: Since I live in the US, it's time for me to go. Great start everyone and I'll see you at the same time tomorrow! Don't leave the base camp until I return please?))

((OOC: Gotcha man. I'm about to play some Fallout anyways. Tomorrow we get to put some hurt on the Reds' >:o))

Aiden would reflect on what Max had said earlier, and decided he didn't like the man at all. There was a word for wanting to kill members of a certain race regardless of what they'd done, and Aiden was all too familiar with it during his childhood. He would simply climb inside the vertibird and rest against the cargo hold, catching some winks until the CO said different.

Aron nodded and walked of to a distant tree. He rested his head against the tree and felt the Psycho wear off. He grinned as he fell in to a deep slumber.

Max pulled out some Cram and Insta-mash, and began eating away. He hadn't eaten anything since before the jump, and was starving. He quickly ate the Insta-mash, and began finishing his Cram in peace. He sat around with the others, giving little eye contact.

(OOC: indeed, why must we all be different time zones? Oh, wait, we revolve, how boring, LOL.))

I sat in my spot, checking my weapons over, again and again. I didn't know what to do for an hour so I just sat there. I looked around at everyone else and scowled, they all looked like they actually could do something, but not me, I couldn't practice hacking, they could practice shooting. I couldn't practice my repair skills, they could practice their medicine skills, I hated that sometimes.

Samuel had left a little later than the rest of the group, so he was now sitting in a Wolverine heading towards mainland China. As the pilot announced that they were over the drop zone, Samuel hooked up and jumped out when the pilot gave the green light. He could see the snow-capped mountains of mainland China as he floated to the ground. Upon hitting the ground Samuel, armed only with his Colt .45, thought, "Now to go find my team."

3 hours later...

After a long amount of time hiking and avoiding Chinese patrols, Samuel finally arrived at the rally point, where he saw a bunch of fellow paratroopers talking. He picked up his other supplies and walked over to his squad. He just sat down and ate some Cram while he waitedfor the others to notice him.

I saw someone walk in, looking tired and annoyed, I walked over to him, I recognised him, "Hey, Sam is it? Man, what happened?" I asked him, generally worried, he hadn't been in the plane with us when we left.

Aiden snapped out of his semi-unconscious state to give the new guy a short, curt welcome.

"Consider yourself lucky. Things could've been worse ya know. Coulda got caught by the Reds'. I've heard stories about how they torture prisoners... I'd rather eat a bullet personally."

Samuel said, "I've also seen Americans executing Chinese soldiers back in Alaska, though those were isolated incidents, I hope. As for the Chinese, I agree with you, I'd rather just have them shoot me."

Aiden shook his head as he remembered the atrocities committed by both sides during Operation Anchorage. Many Chinese prisoners were gunned down, and the executors awarded medals of valor.

But of course, if Aiden was ever ordered to do such a thing, he'd do so without hesitation. Such is the life of a soldier...

I shuddred, I combed through my pack, until I found what I was looking for. To anyone elses eye it would've looked like a simple steel briefcase, I put in the combination, then popped it up. Neselled inside was a computer, one that I always kept at my side, or in my pack. I turned it on, it started booting up, I started seeing what intel I could dig up about the Chinese. And since I was on my computer, I turned on my long range service, to see if I could connect to the big smoke back home.

I continued clacking away at the keyboard, I didn't know if anyone else had noticed that I had an expensive piece of equipment, if anyone did notice I at least hopped that they knew a bit about technology.

Daniel stood, resting he took a swig of his whiskey and tried to clean out the inside of his rifle, but instead of sharpening senses, as the phsyco did his drink dulled his senses. "God this is some good stuff, hey! waht are we waiting for!"

((OOC: Skippy, it's only a couple pages. We just landed in Beijing. Also, we're ready to leave))

Adam eyed his watch. As much as he dreaded it, it was time to go. He eyed the mission plans one more time before walking over to his squad, who were seated playing with their weapons.

"Boys, as much as I hate to say this, it's time to pack up and go." Adam slung his rifle over his shoulder. "Here's the current plan, fresh from mission command. We're gonna be crawling through their main sewer line which has an entrance point about a half mile down this valley. All we have to do is follow it straight into the heart of Beijing. From there, we'll take their main radio towers, defense posts, and disable their AA guns. It's gonna be a dangerous operation, as I'm sure you know. We'll be surrounded on all sides, with no reinforcements from our T-51s until tomorrow morning at the earliest."

Adam looked over his men. They were war-weary and already pushed to normal human limits by Anchorage. But he knew he could count on them to do the impossible.

"Let's move out boys!"

Aron wasn't really happy about crawling through the sewer line. He knew his gun would get messed up to his dismay, but he didn't completely mind. He and his Gatling had been through a lot together. From climbing mountains to swimming through radiated water for what seemed like forever he and his gun had done it. He grabbed some more food before he left, he knew he would need the energy. Then he followed behind his captain, ready for anything.

Aiden shook his head as this mission strangely resembled the last one he'd been on during Operation: Anchorage. It seemed the brass were always ready to sacrifice a few good men for a shot at ending the war cheaply.

"Sir, yes sir.", he'd say before reassembling his rifle which he had taken apart and cleaned. He'd then grab as many 7.62 ? 51 mm NATO rounds as he could carry and jam them into his tactical pack. Jamming his fathers pistol into his holster, Aiden would make sure to grab 3 MRE's from the vertibird transport. "This could be a looooong mission...", he thought.

Max quickly gathered himself, slinging his M14 over his shoulder and putting his Colt on his belt. His knife was strapped to his thigh, and he readied himself for the fight. He couldn't help but think what Aiden had said earlier, and then tell the new guy which he had not yet spoken with that the Chinese were doing terrible atrocities to Americans. To max, Aiden was a hypocrite and Max didn't like them. They were professional liars, say one thing, but mean another.

Max followed the Captain, and lit his burned out cigar as they made their way towards their first objective.

Adam motioned with his hands to the commander sitting across the open field. All at once the other few hundred men started mobilizing into the woods.

"Okay boys, the other paratroopers will be our main front while we sneak underground. Let's do it." He pulled out his tactical map and began walking towards the large circled groove in the mountain. "If this is right, the sewer pipe should stick out of the ground through these woods." After a few moments of following the path, Adam found what he was looking for. A gigantic pipe, as large as the ones he'd seen at the Anchorage oil pipeline, protruded a few feet out of the ground. An emergency service hatch covered in Chinese lettering marked their entrance.

"Hmm. Well that's Army planning for you boys. Anyone have any idea how to open this thing?"

Max looked at the Captain, then at the sewer entrance.

"Dynomite?" Max said shrugging, and looking at the others. He wasn't much of a demolition expert, but he did know how to use dynomite. "Maybe if we strap some sticks of dynomite to it, it will blow it inword, and could possibly kill anyone or things behind it?"

Max quieted, and waited with his M14 at his side.

Aiden would would pace back and forth in front of the hatch impatiently, turning back to the rest of the squad and shrugging. "Guess that depends, sir. I'd figure we have at least one demolitions specialist with us, though. Maybe we should check to see if another battalion has one?"

After thinking for a few moments, Aiden would come up with a more direct solution to their current problem. "Or... You know, concentrated fire from a high caliber weapon might knock the svcker down if they aim for the hinges. Just a thought."
