The simple fix there is to replace the corresponding .lip files with empty ones. And the animation / lip-sync would be gone.

Though I would appreciate the option to disable the bland voice they have thrust upon the player (at least the male voice is bad, haven't heard much of the females) it would do nothing to fix the terrible writing and dialogue system this game has (based on the leaks).
Wouldn't actually hearing the voice in play be a better basis for making that decision?
And what is it that fans expect from male voice actors? For them to talk like a woman? It was the same thing with Commander Shepherd ... "the male voice actor svcked!" "Flat delivery!". Are people just better able to hear emotion in women?
How do people actually expect a voiced protagonist, who has to represent many personality types to be realistically depicted? A character who remains outwardly calm can be interpreted as feeling anything inside, but one who wears his emotions on his sleeves can only be interpreted one way.
Umm...this is not what we're expecting.
There are plenty of good male actors out there. There are plenty of directors who instruct their male actors to behave in believable and expressive ways.
We're expecting that.
So...yeah...not sure where this whole "we expect the males to act like women" thing is coming from.
Just trying to figure out why it's usually the male voice actor that is attacked as 'bland' or 'flat'. What does he need to do to not be 'flat'? Squeal? I've heard nothing in either the male Commander Shepherd or what I've seen so far (limited as it is) of Fallout 4's male voice work that warrants those sort of criticisms so I'm trying to figure out what other people think is missing.
kinda this, what do people think men sound like? I never had a problem with male!shep (although fem!shep sounded better imo). As for being flat...i mean is the male protag supposed to sound like a radio announcer?
Heck for me, I just need to wait until I play the game to know whether I like the voice. I won't judge by a trailer with a few "one liners", which were carved together to for a very specific purpose. Having done some stage acting, I would hate to be judged according to that.
I am sure that if it didn't create the feel that Bethesda was looking for, they would have caught it early and recast someone else.

No one is talking about the female voice yet because almost every streamer is playing a male.
It's not just a couple one liners. Many of us are watching the game from beginning to end.
acting.
Still, I'll wait and see for myself. I guess it all depends on the kind of character you want to play. As for me, I have no interest in watching someone else play, I want to create my own story, which Bethesda (in my opinion) is one of the best game designers to allow that.
Storm
Except it's sort of hard to create your own story when it's already been determined for you. You're a war veteran looking for his family, and the dialogue keeps reminding you of that. Sure, Fallout 3 gave the character a backstory, but didn't go so far as to dictate your occupation or make you a parent. You're just some guy's kid who was raised in a vault. Both are somewhat restrictive, but I feel like Fallout 4 gives us even less wiggle room.
Wow. You're just an all around unpleasant human being aren't you? What did I ever do to you? Way I see it, I live comfortably, don't have to worry about much, so why shouldn't I watch streams of a game I've been anticipating if that's how I want to spend my weekend? I swear the amount of hostility on this forum for criticizing any aspect of this game is horrendous.
Should have marked that spoiler, I had no idea of the backstory of the character.
I had no idea that would even be remotely considered a spoiler. I honestly thought it was common knowledge, and I'm pretty sure even official channels have acknowledged it. Various other threads have been talking openly about it on this site as well.
Still, sorry about that.
The delivery I am fine with, some people call it wooden but I would much rather the VA didn't emote all over the place creating even more dissonance between the character on the screen and the one in my head.
Im not all that happy about the voiced thing in the first place. Much preferred having the old way of seeing the lines in full to prevent confusion, and then having them delivered in my own head instead of by a actual actor which, well, just isnt going to line up 100% to how I think my specific character would say things no matter what is done. Just how it is.
Its not going to break the game for me, though. And Bethesda does listen to their fans that make reasoned arguments instead of stuff like how people are too lazy to imagine their own head voices or some casual conspiracy stuff like that. If people register their dislike in a constructive way should playing the actual game not change our mind, then I am sure fan response will be taken into consideration for TES VI and Fallout 5 or if they decide on a new IP or something. Just...Talking about how your way of roleplaying is so much smarter than those dirty casuals is just a way to discredit yourself pretty quick, and I fear that some people may get caught up in that kind of argument and they would further dismiss the more reasoned ones, and that's other fans im talking about there.
It's not a spoiler. It's been the working assumption since E3, based on the wife's comment about 'knocking them dead at the Veterans Hall' and other things like folded American flag seen on a shelf in the player's home in the E3 video.
Right, that's what I thought but I didn't want to be rude just in case.
You referring to the series that started from the get go saying you were Shepard? Yeah I played them they're not Fallout nor do I want Fallout to be Mass Effect.
Hopefully not that Fallout 4 will be like Mass Effect.
Guess I didn't put it all together, or don't remember.
No worries
As with other Bethesda games, I will usually ignore the MQ for a little while until I "establish myself". Except for Morrowind, they always seem to try and ramp up the urgency, but I play as if I need to get a "lay of the land" before I feel that I am ready to move forward.
Storm
I am still wondering how it will work when you mod in a new companion.
There will not be any voiced lines for those interactions unless provided by the mod author.
I will be fine with text-only, as long as that still works. Matching the protagonist voice on new lines will not go well.
