CK out on Tuesday! Thread 5

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 9:38 am

Oooh guys, i just had the best idea ever!

A ship at the docks with my own guards, i take the boat to my small isle where my house is. (and other buildings nearby, like a small community).

Outside :

A market place filled with the people living at on the isle with me, a graveyard somewhere with tombs for my fallen champions.

Inside :

My own KFC.
War room.
Library with all the books.
Alchemy room, where i grow my own herbs.
Enchanting room with skulls, bones and whatnot creepy stuff.

Inside basemant :

A pile of bodies with my latest night stalking victims.

GIVE ME THE CK NOW!

6:36 AM over here, I haven't had shut-eye at all... and I don't plan to until the CK is safely inside my HDD. I HAVE SPOKEN.

So, you get the thing, you install it and fall asleep? .. so, wouldnt be more efficient to sleep now, wake up, download the thing and start modding right away?

No. why?
Because of Bethesda's little "Coming soon!" game they had going on all these past months. I'm sure I'll sleep a lot more soundly knowing my baby's already inside the Hard Drive just waiting for me to touch it! but hey, that's just me.

Looking forward to start the Viconia port. I'm printing all the scripts out today to get ready to port those. Someone already ported the Sonia hair so that's there. The only thing I'm concerned about is her face, I'm not sure how that's going to go or how I'm going to match that up. The other thing is her skin. I'll have to use the available dark elf skin in the game, which I don't like but it's all that's available right now. The other thing is where to place her in game.

And I'll take this opportunity to say this:

If you have no experience in modding of any kind, don't think big. Think small first. Lots of you are highly enthusiastic and eager to get your creative minds going. Unfortunately, a human's greatest flaw is that he/she is human, and as such, you'll burn out quickly from setting a bar too high from the starting line.

Sit down and take a deep breath!
Try to stay calm, while i tell you this horrifying story.

This incident takes place just outside Riverwood, I was on my way to Whiterun on horseback.
This is when i stumbled upon some game, i jumped off my horse with my bow on my left hand.
I silently stalked this prey up on top some cliffs facing Whiterun. I tipped my fingers with saliva and took a deep breath as i was readying my aim, and so i released the arrow.
Something else grabbed my attention as i watched the arrow fly with the current of the wind, a RABBIT!

I remember those devilish creatures from Monty Python & The Holy Grail.

The arrow struck the deer in the neck, it collapsed and as i was ready to draw my bow once more. The rabbit bursted out from the bush and leaped away.
I dared not to go after it, so i skinned the deer and carved out a nice piece of meat. I went back to my horse and rode for Whiterun.

It didn't take long until i saw the walls of Whiterun just pass the corner of the winding road.
Just as i was about to sprint the last paces, the rabbit showed up and startled my horse!
It flung me over and ran away with my newly skinned hide and fresh meat, unfortunately for me my bow was still attached to the saddle.
So i sat there terrified on the road with no one to come to my rescue, i trembled in fear and begged Talos for the strength to fight back.

The rabbit just stared at me with his red devilish eyes....i could swear that i saw it smile.
Then the most unexpected happened, the rabbit just turned his head and it was gone in seconds.
It left me there cold and startled by the encounter...i felt shame.

I just sat there, staring at the sky, thought to myself. How could this happen? The dragon slayer got bested by a mere rabbit.
After a while i picked myself up and started walking towards Whiterun, on my way there i kicked on whatever small rock or pebble i could find.
That's when IT happened...i accidentally kicked a chicken, the guards saw what i did and rushed towards me with their hands on their weapons.

Hold citizen! Do you know what you just did? You just committed the worst crime in Whiterun.
That's when i realized that i kicked the Jarls most prized chicken.
I begged for forgiveness and tried to explain to them that it was an accident, but they didn't want to hear it.
They unsheathed their swords and lunged at me, i defended myself and i accidentally killed a guard during the process.

I hightailed passed Riverwood and on to Helgen where i hoped to find shelter with the bandits....from that day on...i became a fugitive.

All because of that chicken...that's why my good sir! That's why i'm having my own KFC in my HOUSE!

I have a small amount of modding experience, and I admit, my aspirations are pretty high, but I'm going to start off small and just keep my larger stuff in the planning stages until I think I'm ready.

Ah, the voice of wisdom~
I agree, I'm not a noobie when it comes to modding, but even still I know not to get myself into plans I know are too far from my reach. Know your own limits... shatter them after! ...Of course after could take a while, ahah.

one thing i think would be awesome if some1 could make windows that you can look out of so you can sit by the fire and watch the stream go past!

Wow, exactly what I've been thinking. Sadly, I don't think there is any way to do it and actually observe what is outside your house "cell". So far as I understand it, you have two somewhat lame options.

First, think of the great porch in Dragonsreach. Looks like you have a commanding view of the surrounding area. But it's just a still-life, minus the life bit. I think you'd see the water flow by, but not the hungry hungry angry troll on the opposite bank.

Second is to build an open style structure, not in its own cell, but part of the Riverwood world cell (or whatever it's called). This would be like the abandoned alchemist's shack, only you could make it like any house or structure. The trouble is that everything would be in the world cell.

Well, what do I know? Here's hoping for the cabin in the sky!

sooooo...
making a mansion with twice the size of dragonreach is not an appropriate start?
my ambitions are shattered! :nope:

Actually you can, instead of making the house as an instance, just build it with the outside world, problem solved :)

I'm a genius! Now praise me :P

It's amazing, isn't it? There actually seems to be more excitment here on these threads than there was on the threads just prior to game release last November!!
