Outfit should matter

Guards of imperial cities will say that stormcloak armor is starting to annoy them and vice versa, don't know if they will attack you eventually.

Anyone know if they react to Necromacers robes similar as they did in Oblivion, people even asking if your mad to wear such a thing.

Actually if you wore stormcloak armor in an imperial town the guards would just say "I respect your opinions even though i may not agree with them". Imperials are no barbarians.

Never had them say this, it's always angry if you don't change I will kill you sort of tone. Thats even in whiterun before the civil war quest when it's meant to be sweden.

I'm with you there. It's ridiculous to be on the side of the Imperials and when you enter Windhelm it looks as if it was the first time you visited. People talk to you like you had nothing to do with the Legion and still greet you warmly.
Well if you're not wearing something that says "hey i'm with the empire" They can't actually do anything.
Totally. It's a lot of work to properly include something like that though.
I guess it is a lot of work, but it can be done, just like they did it for Gray Fox cowl(also hides your ID) in Oblivion, or for lev 4 vampirism in skyrim.

Well it is a start but when i was walking around in my db armor after doing some questing and forgetting to take it off, one guard said, "psst I know who you are hail Sithis" and another said, "I know what you do just please, these are good people." when i was in my thieves guild armor they would tell me not to steal anything. I loved the Sithis worshiping guard

edit:

necromancers aren't as despised here. well at least not more despised as regular magi.

Yes of course not, but your deeds speak for themselves, no? Regardless of the armor you're wearing, how would someone that is willingly working against the Stormcloaks be allowed passage into the city so unchecked? You've driven them out of their forts, you're obviously someone who is getting reputation on your toes. People should recognize you! But that's my opinion :)

They should recognize you, but sadly i've left no witnesses...And honestly, armor like Nightingale armor, Dark Brotherhood armor, and even maybe Thieves guild armor shoul hide your identity, so when you commit crime while wearing one of those sets you gather bounty, but when you take it off, the bounty is gone...I already mentioned Gray fox's cowl...That principle would be very appealing to me

I mean what's the point of those armors if everyone outside the faction knows it's you..

I use imperial armor for all the time..I go to stormcloack cities and never get questioned. Although I take my armor off before I enter those cities just to play the the role.

If we wear elven armour and are a high elf, lesser races should kneel as they behold our superiority.

I find it pulls me out of the story quite a bit to be not wearing any Thieves' Guild attire, or Dark Brotherhood attire, and a guard or someone will be like "I know who you belong with."

Or after several public assassinations in Solitude, without wearing a Dragon Priest mask, they can tell who I am when I walk into the town while wearing a mask that covers my face.

Considering that the faction system in FNV was kind of buggy (taking off the armor didn't always remove the faction), it's probably just as well that it wasn't included. Plus I remember all the complaining about not having non-faction versions of faction-specific armors.

Needed to be done.

In my opinion it should be done

its always bothered me that the Thieves Guild has a uniform...
"I know Thieves' Guild armor when I see it, you're not fooling anybody..."
and im like really... theres been a serious breach in security...
I just think it would make more sense if everyone had there own
ramshackle armor or just clothes...

Okay, but note what happens when Thalmor and Stormcloaks fight. Thalmor win, every single time.

Man is inferior to Mer. The only exception is with very skilled individuals, like Tiber Septim. He was only a skilled man, not a god.

IT would make sense for them to take the outfit faction ordeal to serious heart...

but I get some good reactions from guards wearing plain items, as well as faction...so that's kind of all I Want...

I'm tired of "OH [censored] I FORGOT I'M STILL WEARING MY IMPERIAL ARMOR I PICKED UP AT LEVEL 1!"

If people reacted to what you wear, that would be fine. It would be nice to see them questing why you are wearing Dark Brotherhood or Thieves guild armor. As for guards reacting to you, if they went to arrest you and you got a bounty for wearing DB or Thieves gild armor there would be massive amounts of complains and people basically saying the game is ruined because they can't wear their favorite armor.

IMO that would be more realistic...Wouldn't you stop an individual dressed up as an assasin? (Also i would like to point out that i meant that this should apply only to full set of armor) If you're not wearing a db cowl, they don't pay atention

I think it would be cool but there should also be an armor of the same type that doesn't effect factions I mean In new Vegas I really liked the black ranger armor with the mask but on that acount I had sided with the legion so I could not wear it which really svcked imagine not being able to wear your favorite armor it svcks

Pff stormcloaks. I kill them too.

And Imperials, and anyone else that gets in my way. And when I have slain every living being in the world, I will build a ladder of their corpses and ascend to the very heavens, to wage war against the gods that allowed someone like me to exist...

... er, I'm sorry. Bit too much caffeine this morning. :bonk:

Some people don't want realism, and would find that disappointing. I would kinda like that to be implemented, but in a way that it won't be a problem for people that don't want it. Having to wear the entire set of armor would be the solution. Simply changing your gloves or boots and then people would have nothing to complain.

But people simply mentioning your outfit should have been in the game. I know they react if you are naked or (so I've heard) wearing Thieve's Guild armor, but it would be cool to see them reacting to normal iron, steel, or atleast ebony or Deadric armor. I remember wearing full Deadric armor with a dragon priest mask and felt bada**. I wish people would seem scared or worried that this person no one can see is walking around in this massive evil armor make from demon hearts.

On another note, I wish people didn't know who you were if you were wearing full armor showing no skin or anything. It would be awesome to see people questioning who you are when you talk to them, and then saying, "Oh, its you. Didn't recognize you".
