1.4 patch expectations?

Post » Mon May 21, 2012 2:19 am

I hope they can remove all these quest items from my inventory that are slowly but surely building up. So far, the weight of most of them isn't that high, but they do add up eventually. Right now I have several musical instruments from various Bard College quest, several daggers and other quest related weapons, and even after finishing the Red Eagle quest, I just got it assigned to my active quests list AGAIN after I picked up another copy of the Red Eagle related book and made the mistake of reading it. This tarted the quest again even though I completed it about 20 game hours ago!

Completed quest items don't weigh anything. I know this because I just did Diplomatic Immunity, and when Delphine took all my gear, those items were left in my inventory, yet my carry weight was zero. I had all three instruments, plus Gallus' book, plus a few other miscellaneous items, but I was at 0/345 for carry weight.

I'm am curious about the freezing issue, I'm on patch 1.2 my file sive is currently 13 megs and I've had no feezing issues. Does anybody know what exactly is causing it? Is it file size?
yeah it seems to be file size, me and quite a few others had roughly the same fike size (around 16mb) with mine being 17 when it got unplayable. I was noticing freezing around riften when my save file was 14 mb. Seems the more you do, the bigger your save file then the game starts to mess up.

I feel that quest should be a must fix, I've restarted the game 10 times now and put in almost a 1,000 hours at this point. For one I feel cheated on the fact that if I'm roaming the world and I clear an area that if I later accept a job from a tavern, because I cleared the area that quest is now stuck to never be completed. I realize that this is a huge expectation but I would love to be able to do quest and actually complete them. I also feel that area's that are marked cleared should repopulated. not just on a quest note but for the fact that I need giant toe's and well finding one every now and again in a alchemy shop is kinda lame it would be nice to be able to hit the camps and get at least get 2 at a time or even 3. Honestly tho I don't see why people would have a problem with an area that is marked cleared being repopulated. Its just something for us to do really.

You know at this point I would think that people would know better than to pick up a quest item before they start the quest. It's pretty obvious what is a quest item and what's not and if you do go back to a previous save.

Dear Bethesda

Please fix da freezin/crashin that keeps happening with your game on my xbox. It doesn't happen that much to render the game unplayable, but it happens and it happens more often than any other games lock-up. Its a bit shoddy to have this problem.

And please fix the blood-thirsty horses so they don't attack every thing. Horses aren't that tough and they die and then I have to spend more hard-earned gold on a new horse (and repeat the process again...).

But... I love the game thanks!

I sometimes find that on certain parts of the map and I'm running, the gameplay will be jumpy then it'll crash, stopping for couple seconds then going again normally gives it time to load, still annoying though but games is vaste so can't really complain great deal would be nice to be abut seamless though..

I think the lagging and freezing for 360 is a problem but I managed to somewhat slowing it down by clearing my cache once. Also some marriage problems and some stuff with Lydia showing up in the temple dead while I'm getting married. It would be a big help if she wasn't stuck in the door! But I can just drag her out of the way, so whatever. And my dragons for some reason slow down really really slow while in mid air, stay there for a while gliding very slowly in the air, and then go back to full speed attacking me.

Well, looking through these posts makes me feel luckier than I have since this game came out. I've never experienced lag, with 2 lvl 60+ toons (3 counting my first main whom i remade). The freezes stopped after 1.3... I have to admit; The backwards flying dragons were amusing and the broken magicka resistance was challenging and fun. I guess no matter what happens to this game, I'll keep coming back. Hell, even if I was being one-shot by everything, I'd still love this masterpiece.

Now, after all is said and done, I fall into the "fix my stuff" category, and only have issues with what I've had problems with, which aren't much to begin with.
1. Racks and plaques in Windhelm safe-house!
2. Not passing out for Sam.

I'm hoping Blood on the Ice is fixed as well, though I finished it, I had to take the direct to wizard path, because the second body wouldn't spawn for me.
That's my VERY short list of things wrong with my games, the biggest issue I have is not being able to get all the artifacts, that's why I remade my main warrior, then he wouldn't pass out for Sam. HAHA. Oh well, guess I can shoot for it on my Mage and/or Thief.

Best game I've played in such a long time, Cheers to Bethesda, and though I play on the 360, looking forward to the CS!

LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE!

Does anyone else have the problem of not being able to do the thieves guild quest, dampened spirits? Really annoying -.- I hope they fix that.

I heard a rumour the they're gonna fix any quest bugs late 2012 :/ anyone else got news on that?

I just want to know/am curious about the E.T.A. on 1.4. Anyone heard anything aside from the general "January" timeline?

Also a question. I assume that Bethesda will work major Title Updates like other game companies do, so when we get a TU instead of just a data patch, then the number tag will move to 2.whatever?

Not really important, just curiosity.

Last I heard 1.4 is supposed to be a big title update with smaller incrimental patches to follow.

Nothing set in stone as of now but based on Cert process and to meet their Jan expectation, the patch should be done by next week and we should see it on consoles around Mid/Late Jan. Thats what I would expect anyways but I dont have any solid information other than whats available on the stickies

I dont have any expectations of what will be patched but what I want is already echoed here

1. Diplomatic Immunity - I got my stuff back but the next quest doesnt start when I turn in to Delphine. Since this is the main questline, its major in my book
2. Blood on Ice. Won't start. 'nough said.
3. I'd like my weapon racks to work. I have the house in solitude and aside from the rack that only holds 3 weapons even though it has 5 slots, I just noticed recently that one of my shield racks on the wall ate my Ghostblade. I went back 3 saves ago and it was still missing. Lesson learned, never put stuff you want to actually keep on the racks. By the way, that goes for mannequins too. I had a set of Daedric armor that disappeared on one game load. I reloaded and it was fine but it made me paranoid none the less. So yeah, display purposes only! Dont put unique stuff you actually like on there!
4. Much smaller but still annoying, quest items. Either you have them in your inventory after a quest has finished or you have them inventory before the quest is given. Both are stupid and hopefully simple fixes.

Will you be updating us when it is submitted to Microsoft so that everyone can redirect their flame-throwers? :flamethrower:

Edit: Holy crap! It's the cheat! :cheat:

I hope they fix shadowing gulum-ei and the area around solitude when on that quest. It keeps freezing everytime I go outside of solitude and around the general area where gulum ei is walk around at. 1/3 of the entire map around the solitude area is unplayable because of the freezing issue also my main storyline quest has to do with the solitude stables. I have played it on 5 different xbox 360 consoles of my friends around where I live and it has the same issue also they were having the same trouble as I did on their own saves. It is bad business to sell a broken product to customers. I love the game when it functions correctly but I don't want to start over every damn time a quest doesn't function correctly. I and other people have similar troubles want to play on the saves we worked hard and put alot of effort into it instead of having to restart from scratch because the development team rushed a alpha product (best way to describe how buggy it is) on the store shelf claiming it is a perfect product. I know nothing can be perfect. But if you can't complete a game because of the bugs it is a waste of money to the customer and makes the company look bad as a whole.

For those of you who are having lots of freezing problems, I recommend deleting some earlier saves that you know you won't go back to anymore. My game was running kinda slow too but I had like 600+ saves so I deleted a ton, now I only have about 100 saves at any given time and the game runs much smoother.
