Physics...

Damn I want to play this game so bad, but even so, I still got a complaint Id like to share and were we all have been discussing about for some time.

There are two things I noticed.

1. Finishers are unfinished
2. Combat lacks impact

To me, these finishers only look like they were meant to impress. Thing is, they don't. They end abruptly sometimes or they don't connect well. I love finishing moves in overall, don't get me wrong, but it only serves me when they are implemented well enough. Instead of flourishing it looks static and sometimes ridiculous when the animations seem to end all the sudden or when the blows do not seem to connect to the enemy's model.

Ive seen someone torching a petty wolf with a continues stream of fire and it actually kept on attacking without even one flinch. Hitting people on the head with a deadric mace does not seem to have any impact at times (perhaps depending on skill but then even so...) which looks just silly. It instantly reminded me of Oblivion and I don't liked to be remembered about the combat in that game.

I did not expect perfection, but at least the effort to make it seem people are actually being hit.

Then quit looking for things to whine about.

At least try to make sense and at the very least try to stop making yourself looking like a fool.

And I am not even trying to look for them, they are prominently displayed in my face.

If they made it more realistic like you are suggesting the game would be increadibly easy. In real life if you get struck by a mace you will be staggered/stunned. If the game were more realistic and you were swing your mace away like crazy the enemy would never attack because hed be staggered until he died. The combat is fine as it is unrealitic to expect the every single blow to have a visual effect.

Plenty of people have said the combat is "airy" and I do agree with you, there is some impact missing from it. You just can't have perfection.

It's the forums. People can and will talk about what they want, deal with it. And this is a valid point, since in oblivion you could hit people with a giant freaking hammer and they acted like they never got hit..at all.

Its Bethesda. If it has some major flaw, you'll know ;) That was my issue on the combat in oblivion though... No recoil, no real sense of intense combat. As for the finishing moves, that sounds like it'll be a real pain in the [censored] and it sounds like something I frankly wouldn't want to watch lol. I'm picking up my copy tomorrow so let's see how much i cringe to the messups.

Something that is not satisfying for me is the intersecting 3d models that merge throught each other...

It was...hmmmm...foreseeable that after a while away from this board i would once again face the same old tired and tiresome rhetoric against any criticism.
Some people - apatrently you're one of them - just can't bear the thought of others having a different yet legitimate perspective.

It looks much improved from Oblivion. I didnt expect any improvement from it actually... Physics could have been better tho, they should have made everything heavier.

You clearly said that you didn't expect it to be perfect, but yet you complain. That seems like flawed logic to me.

To be honest, I couldn't care less about a wolf not reacting to fire and other physics etc. This is just incredibly silly nitpicking. Why ruin the Skyrim experience for yourself by worrying about such incredibly minor detail?

If you look at Op's response I wasn't saying he was wrong. I actually agree with him, I was just bringing to attention that nothing will be perfect.

As I said in the OP, I did not expect it. I did expect more then what they have given.

Probably one of the most useless replies that anyone can post in a thread with criticism. If you got nothing to add, then get out. Your post does not convince me in any way to make me forget the obvious lack of impact combat wise.
