Whenever I start a new MMO, I always say I will make only one character. But I usually end up making more before the first one is fully leveled (if I stick with the game long enough).

if its a sub game (which we think it will be right?) then i figure we will get 10 slots at launch. if its not a sub based game we will get 3 with the option to buy more

Yes, ESO will have only one server, the mega server, but everybody knows that this will not be one physical server but many appearing as one mega server.

I imagine that once you log in to ESO instead of the usual MMO server list you will see the 3 factions, and you will have to select one of the factions. Then your character slots for this faction will appear. Hopefully there will be a minimum of 4-5 slots per faction.

It is also quite standard that further character slots can either be purchased or will be automatically unlocked for veteran players after X months subscription to the game.

There are four classes, right? Then I'll probably roll four characters. Whichever one grows on me the most is likely to become my main.

Normally i just play one character but...perhaps this time around two or even three! /nod.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':nod:' />

I'm in the altaholic class, though i always wait on creating more depending on crafting and whether or not i find a compatible group of folks to guild with. I usually roll my 1st to be the character i want to be as a whole, then as i stated, depending on those factors, i'll start a bunch of alts in each faction and race(depending this time on how many alts zos decide is appropriate for eso) i might enjoy and choose a craft for each to try them all and if banks work as some other games, pass craft mats and gear to my other alts. If it employs a mail system instead of a shared bank, i'll simply mail the mats back and forth like i did in lotro until i got the money to buy a house(assuming this will also be done in eso) and use the shared chest(s).

I have no idea, I'll have a main and probably a few alts since I roleplay a lot and like to see different classes and races.

I'm not really sure how you plan to twink when everyone is boosted to 50.

Badly worded poll /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> You can have one main and still have three or five or 12 alts. Or you can have 3 or 5 that you play equally. So "One main" is perfectly compatible with "5 chars".

Personally, I expect to put a lot of time into AT LEAST one char in each alliance... but knowing how these things go, one of em will wind up getting most of my playtime. Hard to predict which one though; often the first is NOT the one to triumph, because I make too many mistakes through noobness while leveling em /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

And if I wind up liking this game enough to spend a LOT of time in it, I may end up with one of every class and maybe even one of every race. We'll see.

I will only be playing 1 char because I never liked playing an Alt it takes away a lot of time and currency and I have to level up again that's nothing more me.
But I most likly will play my char with an second Build which will be kind of an Alt without the stupid leveling.

A lot of them for test, just one for max level and endgame content. Which one... remains to be decided while leveling them.

This is how I play. I have a lot of characters in a new game because I do not know what I am going to enjoy. Experimenting with the different playstyles is part of the fun. Though there is nearly always one I enjoy more than others and that is the one I play most often though I will get everyone I enjoy to max level.

i agree. i believe most of the people voting for 1 mean one main and will in fact make alts at some point. i voted 5 plus even though i will only have 1 main

One main character and countless alts...... I usually choose one that I progress as far as possible but from time to time when I need a break from it , I will make an alt just to try out other races ect....

In World of Warcraft I rolled a Human Rogue (wanted to re-create my character from UO). I never created a single alt and had VERY little interest in doing so, yet I played and had fun with him for 8 consecutive years in World of Warcraft.

Because people have different play styles than you - and that's what makes an MMORPG appealing to me as it should be about diverse different gameplay styles coming together to help one another, bringing their unique style of play to the table.
