Poll : How many character will you roll?

Post » Wed Sep 04, 2013 7:42 am

Will you just play with one, or are you planning on having alts?

Voted 1, because I'm a perfectionist (the less alts the more time I can spend on the main).
Maybe a second character just for playing the opposite of my main.

Voted 1, alts are nice to learn the abilities of other classes but I prefer organizing 1v1 to do this.

just 1 main toon to focus on. Might make one other toon to see what the opposing factions area looks like but wouldnt put any real time into it.

Depends how quests work etc. (if it's just the same thing over and over again, like WoW I won't make that much alts.)

The only time you will be doing 1v1 is with another faction in Cyrodiil, that wont be through organization either.

Woah, 6 people voted for Five+ ...

I thought it would be pretty standard that you have one character and stick to it. That's how I play games at least... I want my character to resemble myself, as well, so people could have an idea of how I look irl.

Voted 5+ because I am an altaholic and I know that ESO will be my MMO home for years to come. I can never stick with one character unless I get bored from the game and quit it quickly, which wont happen for me with ESO.

On launch day I will probably start one character for each faction, which makes 3. Once those have been leveled to max level and I have explored each faction zone I will probably make a 4th which I plan to level up in Cyrodiil only as much as possible. Then in future I may roll more alts for expansions if content is added that is not only end-game content.

Finally, I plan to build one character for each trinity arch type, so one fighter/tank, one archer/stealth, one spellcaster and one pure healer. After those I will probably make one or two hybrid builds as well, so that should make up to 5+

I mostly make a healer, dps and a tank. So, 3 characters. Probably one for each faction.

Seriously, why do people twink? just curious here.. I really don't see any other reason than that you don't ever want to lose, so you go and win against low lvl, badly geared opponents. But that's my perception on it.

Because there is a certain amount of joy in completely rolling people. Same reason why people hack etc. It is not something I condone by any means, but it is rather easy to understand.

Hi everyone, my name is Death Jester and I am an altaholic. Actually, that is only true in the case of MMORPGs with robust character creation features, like anything that Cryptic has made excluding the mundane character creator in Neverwinter.

If there is not a good deal of variety in the character creation options for TESO, then I may just chose a race and figure out what are the best, limited, options that they provide.

I pray that the character creator in TESO is the most diversified of any MMORPG currently on the market!

Probably just two for the most part, male and female khajiit. I may create other characters later on depending on how long I play the game.

considering the faction-lock: 1 char in each faction to start with.
knowing me that will not be enough, because i will want all classes in the same faction. as a result i will probably have 6chars...
i still know how i am tho, and will play 1 char more then any other

edit: interesting results so far. most ppl either go for 1 class, played to perfection. or just making all kinds of chars and play them all, being more jack-of-all-trades.

I think I will probably roll up at least one per faction. I want to see all sides of the conflict. See what the differences are in each faction.

One per race starting with Argonian, he'll be a DK and will be played as a tank, after that the other races will primarily focus on their racial trees (if possible.).

Personally I twink for PVE content so I don't die quite so easily levelling up the second time around that is why I twink. Why does everyone assume its all about PVP right away?

I'll roll 2 toons to start. And eventually a stealth class character for battlegrounds.

Actually at some point twinking is par for the course in the lower lvl battle grounds. If you don't twink you get rolled.

Transferring good gear from high lev chars to lower level characters. This is usually done by the same player using his/her high level char to outfit lower level chars but has been done by guilds providing for lower level chars so they can level more quickly.

It's intentionally playing in a lower-than-max level PVP match with optimum gear for that level, as it's usually much easier to get than optimum max-level gear. I'm not sure it'll be a thing here, if everyone gets tossed into Cyrodiil together.

The other games to try recently this that I can think of are SWTOR (which did it very badly) and GW2 (which did it slightly less badly). The issue in SWTOR was the pvp stat, which was only on max level gear, and basically said "don't bother until you hit max level". GW2 just had somewhat odd scaling, but it was still playable at less than max level.
