Poll - Ride a Dragon

Post » Thu Nov 08, 2012 7:16 am

Well there it is. Lets discuss it a better way than hate topic titles and anti dragon titles.
In my case, I will wait till the DLC is out, and if I ride them, I want to go everywere. If not, then, I will just dont ride them.

Will we be able to fly the dragons or is like that one part in the main quest?

Not against the idea of flying mounts, but I'd prefer if they were auto-set pieces rather than something we could do when and wherever we wanted.

I want dragon riding to require skill. Not necessarily A skill just not like WoW where you can just *poof* mount and *poof* dismount.

May be you will be able to mount not by skill but after some sort of quest, or even the MQ of the DLC.

From what I can tell it will be in the new land only.

I'll wait to see how it's implemented. It would certainly feel like a more organic way of fast travelling than magically teleporting from place to place.

Well time passes when you fast travel. Affected by armour and if your mounted or not. It acts like you jogged to the place without stopping.

The whole "flying a dragon" doesn't really matter to me at all.

Nevertheless, I's prefer to travel there myself.

It seems for now, the Yes is winning for a long margin.

All I can say is if I can shoot out some chain lightning while flying a dragon anywhere in Skyrim, my Skyrim experience will be complete. Nothing will be able to top it.

It seems like we can fly in Skyrim based off of the final scene in the trailer. Personally, I feel that if invisible barriers are implemented and put around towns and such, it wouldn't be bad at all. Personally, I feel that the chance to fly around Skyrim will be a nice experience. I just hope I can engage in air to ground combat.

Ah election season. I love dem polls! Gotta know how many people agree with me! I jest...but ya, I hate polls right now, which is weird, since I willfully took this poll. I think I may hate myself.

The part where you actually see the flying, in the background is the Throat of the World.

OK, so I'm not hardcoe into the lore/story/history like some of the guys here, just wanted to get that out front first.

I'm not into adding dragon riding into the game as a means of everyday travelling. It seems kinda stupid to add that in when you're supposed to be killing All dragons, not making nice and having one chauffer you around. If that's the case then the main storyline would need to be altered to where you only kill off certain evil dragons and let others live, like the two you call with a shout (which I never use because it doesn't fit in with the main storyline anyway).

Ya, the lore isnt that simple, even in game. So on that note, yest it has been "altered" to where you only kill certain evil dragons and let others live. :D

No, I don't really see it as part of the game and wouldn't see much fun in it anyway. It's not as there are good distance views from any hight either, Oblivion yes.

At least force us to fight and subdue the dragons before being able to mount them. I find it silly that dragon would let you jump on it, dovahkin or otherwise, and ride them just because.

"Your silly fence didn't stop my horse, what made you think it would stop my DRAGON!?"

"WTF, you're supposed to be killing them!"

"WTF, you're supposed to be falling to your death right now!"

"Wha-?"

It seems to me obvious that some sort of quest pr achievement would be done before you can mount a dragon.
Considering the dragons tend to be hostile towards the player.
As Dawnguard starts at lvl 10, we dont know the level condition for the new DLC.
