I want a peace treaty with the Forsworn so to speak. I don't want them to randomly attack me like Bandits.
I suppose this would affect some quests but I could do the quests first then or just not do them at all.

Is something like this possible?


I don't want to be anti-Forsworn just because Bethesda programmed them to be the "bad guys". I like them more than Ulfric and his Nords and would like to give them some land around Markath (but not the city itself).

I was curious about this, I completed their quest and sided with their leader, maybe you have to be wearing the full set of old god's armour but so far all Forsworn are hostile to me

Fingers crossed this is either a bug or a mod can fix it when we get the Creation Kit.

Try adding yourself to their faction? Although the Addfac command doesn't seem to work for me personally.

Why would it be a bug?

There's no camera phone that their leader could show everyone your picture saying "Hey! That guy's alright!".

Also, he does warn you not to tread too deep into the reach, as they'd be more active than ever before; so that's the game's justification for it.

Can you change an NPC's faction? Absolutely and it's not extremely taxing to do; however... it wouldn't be a fix, it would just be an atmosphere preference.

Personally, I'd like this. I can't wait to get my hands on the kit.

How would the Forsworn recognize you as not being an outsider?

And yet everyone throughout the land knows you are in the Companions the instant you join.

As do the tribal orcs if you help them out with a quest at one of the strongholds.

So therefor, by that logic, you believe that everyone should automatically know everything about you automatically?

By Skyrim logic, yeah.

No, but they want the same rules to apply. It is not impractical for one to want it considering the games logic on the whole mess. If you do not then you don't have to desire it, but having a mod that makes you join after you free the prince in rags would make perfect sense.

The addtofaction command does work.

By that logic we know, one way or the other, that it is inconsistent.

Ah but you see the difference in behavior of these factions is one is join-able and the other is not.

Don't fear I can almost gaurantee a foresworn mod will be out within weeks of the kit being released. It's dead easy to do, just add the player to the correct faction and mod the disposition to playerfaction..assuming they are still using that.

The only issue I can think of is that if Bethesda meant for the Forsworn to be generic enemies when you're out in the world it might mess with a few quests.

Personally I'd like to be able to side with the Foresworn. But then, I also want to 'cure' the Falmer, bring them back to the surface as Snow Elves, and kick the Nords out of Skyrim. >.>

They're not the "same rules". Joining the companions is not the same as helping the Forsworn. The Forsworn are violent to outsiders, companions are not. It is possible to help the companions without joining them. It is possible to help the Forsworn without joining them.

I'm sure a lot of people would like to side-with the Forsworn, but I'm not so sure the Forsworn would like anybody to side with them. I think that's their exact purpose, remaining separate from everyone else. They'd never be friends with a Stormcloak or Imperial sympathizer, or a Nord, or a Khajit, or an Argonian, or any type of elf or anything that isn't another Forsworn.

It isn't inconsistent. They're not the same group, why should they be treated the same? You cannot join the Forsworn. The Forsworn are violent to outsiders. The Forsworn have no interest in letting outsiders join. They have absolutely nothing in common with the companions. There is absolutely no reason to even compare the two groups.

It will be able to be fixed if the CS is anything like Morrowind's, where you can choose their agression level.

If you go to the cave where their king ran to he will acknowledge you with one line and the forsworn there won't attack you.

Really, if you don't think it makes sense or if it hurts your immersion, just don't use it. Personally I think it could be very possible that, after years in prison, the forsworn leader has a sort of conference or goes to all the various forsworn camps and tells the tale of your daring escape, and mentions you, who helped to free him and other forsworn, and so they know who you are.

And once the CK comes out it will be very easy to allow the forsworn to be joinable. You could even add a few quests in there and make a full project!

If anything, his years in prison should make him hate everyone else even more. He uses you as a tool to achieve his ends. That is all.

I think if we're going to change anything about the game in order to satisfy some bizarre definition of constancy, we should change other factions, like the orc strongholds to have independent reputation of the player like the various holds.

Agreed. I'd like to see the war fleshed out quite a bit more than it is (and turned into something more than just Yet Another Quest Line), including the ability to support any of the four factions active in the conflict (Imperials, Stormcloaks, Forsworn, and Thalmor).

I'm a Breton myself who was hoping to join up with them or at least assist the Foresworn whenever I eventually make it to Markarth. Alas seems I'll have to use a console command. Then again, by time I make it to Markarth the CK should hopefully be out.........

Well. Forsworn and "the rest of the world" are mutually exclusive. If you join up with or ally with the Forsworn then the rest of the civilized world would hate you. You'd have to dress & behave like a Forsworn for them to not attack you on sight... and if you're dressed and acting like a Forsworn the rest of the world should attack you on sight.

I think the Forsworn are not a join-able faction because it would be a very boring and small scope game if they were. They essentially despise everything about the rest of the world. No Empire. No Stormcloaks. No guilds. Joining a group of bandits actually makes more sense, at least they should be able to fit in with the rest of society after taking a bath.

Because I told them so.

Granted, I could be lying, but that's what dressing properly (in the right "colours") and Speechcraft is for.
