Unprofessional, unconstructive, biased, sloppy and useless "review". Anyone who takes that "review" seriously is an idiot in my book, period.
Couldn't agree more, and a total lack of civility to boot.
Even jokingly suggesting he'd like Cervat TO DIE because he doesn't like a product he's free to ignore is absolutely astonishing. The fact the he's a father is shocking, as his mentality is totally juvenile and frankly extremist.
As someone who owns a PC which plays Crysis 1 at 40 fps, and xbox 360 and a PS3 I've never understood all the mindless biching and ranting from the exclusively PC community. They're so superior they sound a bit like video game Nazi's for want of a better term; assured of their superiority despite everyone else's best judgement.
Maybe I feel more secure because I own all three and have the freedom of choice (having not blown all my budget on hardware that isn't even necessary for most games these days) and these hardware elitists are just bitter and jealous of what's on offer elsewhere and that they don't dictate the entire gaming world's agenda to suit their unrealistically expensive rigs.
My rig cost me about $2000 all in, taking into account depreciation. I absolutely consider myself a hardcoe gamer in that it's my No. 1 hobby and what I spend most of my money on.
In fact I would argue that owning a PS3 and an Xbox 360 as well as a more than capable gaming rig makes me, if anything, more of a hardcoe gamer than any of the PC nazis out there because I could never be satisfied with the offerings of just one machine.
Respond with logical arguments PC fanboys (which until reading the bile of the last few years I once considered myself to be).
Most of them don't *have* any logical arguments.
I've had my own disagreements with Kyle (still a member of [H] despite that, as I don't get caught up in flamewars) - but I keep them civil.
Unlike most of the gripe-artists, I have a pretty darn ordinary PC. That said, Crysis 2 at the defaults is the best-looking shooter at the defaults that I have ever seen.
Usually, when you start a game (and especially a shooter, multiplatform or otherwise), you want to move away from the defaults because the graphics generally blow at the default settings.
So NOT the case with Crysis 2.
The reason I went back and looked at the settings the first time was because I was curious - the load times were smooth, there was no chop, and it was everyting the original Crysis patched up to date *still isn't*.
1024x768, Gamer level of detail (like I said - ordinary hardware), V-sync on (that last is a surprise - it's usually off in a shooter at that resolution).
Did I change any of that? Nope. (Not going to, either - I know my gaming hardware is ordinary.)
The defaults are actually dead-on.
That's one thing that shooters, and especially multiplatform shooters, almost always get wrong.
Gamers that want to get down to playing have a lot to love in Crysis 2. However, the lack of reasons for tweaking are why hardware-enthusiasts (like Kyle) will loathe it.
