Bethesda, this may be the greatest game ever made.

A lot of you might flame, but flamas gunna flame.

Anyway, I always put Morrowind - and still do - in that esteem, but Skyrim definitely has the potential to surpass it for me. Pointless thread I guess, except to say thanks for all the hard work, Bethesda!

I would have a hard time disagreeing with this statement.

I have to agree with original poster. Ocarina of Time or Warcraft III (I love RTS) might be the only legitimate challengers in my mind, but this takes everything that was irritating about Oblivion and fixed it completely... not to mention it's gorgeous. Except for a few bugs (which are unavoidable in a game this size, and will quickly be fixed by the mod community) there are no flaws thus far. I love it.

I was just sat on a cliff sniping bandits on a bridge (that place next to the waterfall), and as I was killing the last one I noticed 3 dudes walking across the bridge in my direction. When they get near me I notice "hired thug", and it becomes obvious someone has hired them to kill me. They were pretty tough, but when I killed them I read the note, apparently someone called Moira hired them. Now I'm going to have to find her and kill her. Any ideas where she is?
this happend to me, then ten mins later a assasin from the dark brotherhood tried to kill me i searched him n he had a note saying someone has paid them to kill me.

A hour later some thalmor justicars appeard trying to kill me carrying a note saying the thalmor want me dead. Am onli lvl 7 not been playing that long and already half of skyrim want me dead...

I just hope they dont give up 2 easily...

It might be best game for the peeps that are too young to know better. I can count many games better than this (sadly) too streamlined game.

Lets start with both system shocks, fallout 1 and 2, baldurs gates, List goes on and on.

I pretty much got Skyrim a couple of hours ago.

so far it reminds me more of Daggerfall than OB or MW so far . (which is a good thing btw)

Really...I guess I can count even more games, but non of them ever achieved what Skyrim did. I'm playing since 1986, being a PC player since 1989. I've played them all, from Tie Fighter Series to Wing Commander, from Police Quest to Space Quest, from Eye of the Beholder to Menzoberranzan, from Arena to Daggerfall, from Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter Nights and Planescape Torment to Diabolo II, from Civilization Series to Half Life Series, from Call of Duty I to Total War Series, from Morrowind to Oblivion, from CODMW to Gothic, from Fallout Series to Stalker Series, from Crysis Series to The Sims series, from Spore to Minecraft, from Dead Space to Dragon Age, from Mass Effect to Battlefield...I've played them all...since 1989...and there's nothing even remotly comparable to this game, even in it's raw and unmodded state. Rome - TW, Mass Effect, Half Life 2, The Sims 3, Dragon Age, Tie Fighter and Wing Commander, Mech Warrior. I've played more then 3.000 games the last 24 years and have over 4.000 games at my house ranging all platforms, I consumed FF9-11, GTA I-III, Gran turismo, Resident Evil, Left4Dead, you name them, I've played them ...thoose all where great franchises and games...but Skyrim is not a game...it's a journey to a different world that lets you become one with it...take a deep breath, you can even smell the mountainess air when traveling the northern countryside...this game rocks your ass off baby and there's no argument in this Universe that could make my words be spoken in denial...spread the word:

SKYRIM IS GOD AND THE DOVAKIN IS HIS SON!!!

Your argument blowen in the wind @Luewen...;)

I cannot put my love of this game into words. It's quite simply the best game I've ever played ... EVER!!! There is still so much more for me to explore and do; I've barely scratched the surface of the game having only put in 16 hours so far.

Yeah we know, anything was better in the past...your mummy serving you cookies and milk when playing FO2, your daddy who brought all the tolerance a daddy of a spoiled kid could give...man even the damn computers where better with their 333 Mhz, 64 MB RAM and onboard low class graphical devices...modern times svck, and Bethesda made Skyrim just to annoy you...how dare them not developing Skyrim with a 2d engine, 16 bit sound and a forum where evryone can grant his input, even if it's of low interest^^

Down boy!

This has taken the throne of "The Greatest Console Game Ever Made". Without question.

The best single player experience I have ever had, and the most excitement I've ever been provided in just 18 short hours so far.

Haters can hate, and listers can list what games they prefer over this (to tedious extents), but Skyrim is the king.

Despite its technical flaws, Skyrim is shaping up to the best game I have ever played.

Congratulations, to everyone involved in the creation of this game! Just thought I'd stop by to show my appreciation. The atmosphere feels a lot more like Morrowind than Oblivion, which is no bad thing IMO. I'm ridiculously happy right now!
