The Dragons are SERIOUSLY underpowered.

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 9:10 am

lv 37 with 381 hp melee mage with conj and alt maxed. Met elder frost dragon in the College Winterhold.

The dragon does kill move when my health drops down below 70% and I'm in melee. Position doesn't seem to matter since he bited me off twice and swung me with his tail once.
Dragons do get scary as you grow.

Well, it could be based on the type of dragon you fight. I'm level 29 and easily kill regualr and blood variants, but the frost dragons tend to test my mettle by doing high melee damage and draining my stamina with their frot breath. I'm a Nord though, so the frost damage itself is rather weak. But, yeah I believe they should be a bit more powerful.

I dont think dragons are underpowered, but giants and mammoths are WAY OVERPOWERED, just sayin

Become a werewolf and you can rip apart giants without ever getting touched, it's hilarious.

Yeah I really hope they make dragons more powerful. They are a joke even on master difficulty...

Dragons are a ton more fun to fight than any other, thats what I like. They are at a PERFECT difficulty level. The others are all too hard.

ever met elder dragons? one of them took out ~200 health with one bite

but otherwise I agree , I came upon a scene where there were 2 dragons , 3 giants and a bunch of stormcloaks fighting and the dragons were getting the worst of the fight , I was just there to leech the dragon souls after they got thrashed

also saw a guard go 1v1 and sync kill one

Search for Blood and white Dragons. They will mess you up. Probably. I almost killed a Blood Dragon, but I was in a REALLY bad spot when it attacked...

I found a Frost Blood Dragon on master, talk about the longest fight I've ever had in a SP. I had to take a break after I killed it. =P

It did feel a bit meh when i killed the first dragon in main quest, was too easy to be your first dragon.. and i was on full difficulty, i had alot more fun with my third dragon though ^^
But its good to know the high lv dragons kick ass... looking forward to that :D

I've killed 6 dragons. I'm now attempting to defeat a Blood Dragon to no avail. Like, the other dragons I could bask in their flames forever and just take my time beating them (I'm being serious). I play as a Dark Elf (50% resistance to Fire) + I take a Weak Resist Fire potion and normal dragons are ez pz. This Blood dragon though with its ice breath, is freaking hard. I die in a few minutes vs it and can't get its health down past 50%... ugh

I think the dragons in the world scale with you a bit while giants don't, so when giants outlevel you they probably outlevel the dragons by a fair bit as well.

If you want challenge play on master difficulty without looking up all the min/max specs and overpowered weapon locations online.

At level 20 dragons are nigh impossible to kill on expert, I have to take it down to apprentice.

yea at first it was easy, but now im finding myself taking any advantage i can find to kill these bastards :D blood dragons are a [censored].

so THATS what it was, thats why some dragons (fire dragons) seemed so easy and did so little damage, while the blood dragons with frost breath had me running around like a little girl :D

why would you ruin the game like that so quickly? the game hasnt even been out for a week and people are looking up where to find the best weapons? oh well. but master difficulty is a pain indeed.

So yeah. I'm going through the world fighting dragons and they are remarkably easy. These are supposed to be the top dog enemies of Skyrim and I'm beating them left and right WITH MELEE. I crank the difficulty up each time just to get a bit more of a challenge. What really got me is when I came across a Giant and a Dragon fighting and the Giant kicked its ass in 4 hits. I didn't even get over there in time to hit the Dragon any. I definitely think, in the first patch, that they need to buff up the Dragons quite a bit.

In my game, a mere Fire Adept killed a named dragon. I later on, 2-shotted that Fire Adept. Rock papper scissor heheheh.

I play the hardest diffuculty, am now level 18, and I own all dragons! Now when I hear their screech I think "WTF really?! I got [censored] to do here dumb dragon!!". I then kill it, collect it's crap, then go dump it somewhere because it usually gets me to my weight limit. So annoying! They aren't hard once you get there stupid attack patterns down. So far I've only faced fire breathing dragons, I hope the other kinds are harder.

dragons are indeed weak in the beginning but once you get to around level 30 1 blood or elder dragon or the dragon you can summon can take on 3 mammoths and 2 giants and still have over 50% hp.

Of course they seem like that. It's your destiny to kill them.

if you think they are too easy turn up your difficulty and they'll start kicking your butt in no time.

My stealth character has a difficult time with them on Expert. I am glad for my follower who grabs all of the attention and I am also thankful for bandits, giants, etc. getting the attention of the dragon while i stay back with my bow and pew pew

Yep.

I've stumbled across a good pile of fire resist (30% elven shield, 50% elven boots), and my first blood dragon (fire) was easy as pie.

Then I ran into a second blood dragon, in the volcanic tundra. It was frost. Large amounts of death ensued. (That frost breath does huge damage.....)
