The Dragons are SERIOUSLY underpowered.

Yeah except for the fact that it doesn't synch at all with the game world. Giants are scary but you're guaranteed to kill dragons? Yet everyone is supposed to be afraid of dragons? How did they not fix this in alpha? They should have made some dragons hard. Not just, make it so that they're all easy.

I've only fought the first one so far and it was pretty hard

This!
Also, if you needed to level up to level 40 before being able to take on a Dragon, it would take ages before you could use more Dragonshouts. My guess is that they are intentionally scaled to character ability for this reason.

Plus!
Aren't we playing Dragonborn?! If dragons were difficult then we wouldn't be Dragonborn, rIght? At times they're difficult; try light armor against a blood dragon, he'll get you bleeding, even on apprentice.

The first two weren't to bad, I had help.

But the third one in the wilderness by myself, much harder. (mage)

When I was alone, the first time I battled it, it just grab me with its mouth and tossed me across the tundra :cryvaultboy:

Blood dragons are hard...

Very hard...

There was a quest for me to do, I found 2 dragons and almost 10 guys trying to kill me....
I died in 3 seconds...

Well, after that I just tried some sneaking. You know, just hide, while they fight between themselves... Only the blood dragon survived... This battle was EPIC :D

I don't understand when people whine that the game is too easy. If that is the case then set the difficulty to MASTER. Problem Solved.

Buff dragons and slightly nerf giants. I take dragons easy, taking barely any damage without a shield and in heavy armor. Take down dragons easy. Then, I see a giant and it one hits me and I go flying about a hundred feet in the air. Same thing with the Snow Bears, they're way harder than dragons. I remember thinking to myself, why if giants are here is everyone so nervous about dragons? Giants are the real problem.

Dunno I play on Expert and I find dragons reasonably challenging 1 v 1. I play as a mage, but for some reason when the dragon lands I always want to equip a sword and run in and hack at it... and then I get eaten, lol. But yeah, as a mage in robes, dragons are not "too easy" for me, only have 100 hp so can die quickly if I'm not concerntrating. I usually beat them but died a few times as well. Companions make it much easier, meat shield. But yeah if the game is not challenging enough for you, play on Master, don't use companions and use weaker equipment. Or wait until a mod comes out.

@Lethys: Because Giants don't randomly burn down villages and are very easy to avoid and mostly peaceful.

Isn't Dragonborn supposed to make dragons look like wimps?

A giant is very strong, but you don't have to fight the giants, you're not Giantborn.

Dragons are easy - depending on "how" you play!

I use: 2Hand, Restoration, Light Armor, Destruction - and Dragons are easy to kill at default difficulty.
It was very hard to kill a Dragon in the beginning, because i had only 100 HP - now i have 330 HP and everything is fine. [Yeah... 330HP "Mage" :D]

I might be wrong but i think you 'unlock' harder dragons as the game goes on.

I havent done much of the main story, and i am yet to see any blood dragons or the like, only normal easy dragons, My gf is almost done the main story and she had ass kicking bloods left right and center that just destroy her. And its not to do with level because im a higher level.

And i have 16 dragon souls so ive ran into lots.

Strange, I have not encountered any weak dragons so far. In fact, I've been getting my ass kicked by them. And I'm a battlemage with extremely powerful spells and items.

To all of you whining about weak dragons just wait until you reach level 40-50. The dragons you face then are ridiculously difficult.

Giants will always just be giants no matter what level you are. Dragon scale to your level, so as you get stronger so do they. It's easy to become stronger than dragons at the beginning of the game because the player grows stronger faster than dragons do early game. Late game the player grows stronger more slowly and dragons grow stronger at the same rate.

Don't worry they will eventually catch-up and perhaps surpass you.

So far I've only encountered fire and frost dragons. They have been extremely easy, even when fighting two at once. The problem is that while they have a lot of health, their breath does hardly any damage.

At level 20 dragons are nigh impossible to kill on expert, I have to take it down to apprentice.

That's... bad. It sounds like Oblivion's level-scaling... making character progression counter-intuitive.

What kind of dragon? Fire dragons, yes easy. They are supposed to be. Blood dragons are quite a bit harder, and frost dragons can be quite a challange. Black dragons are a biatch to kill.

They scale in difficulty.

Ah, this was a great post. I didn't realize there was so much difference between dragon types. Like most of the people on this thread, I thought that dragons were too easy (even on master), but it looks like I've only fought the easiest type so far.

Heh,I fear Sabre Cats more actually XD Because dragons fly around and only land to give you attacking chances, while the cats go after you on land and they run damn fast.

Dragons are...weird.It is kinda awkward to attack such huge and armored-looking things with your average iron sword @_@

They should have beefed up the starter dragons a little bit because people seem to keep getting the impression that the dragons are leveled, when they're not. I'm level 27 now and I just killed my first frost dragon alone. The last three that I ran into (all above level 20) ate me for lunch. It took everything I had to take this guy down and it was very satisfying once it was over.

The dragon fights could sure as hell be a bit more exciting, though. I'm disappointed that I haven't seen any use any actual shouts apart from Yol/Fo. It's disappointing that it will fall to modders to spice things up a bit, but exciting that there's so much to work with.

I play on master difficulty, and I cam across my first elder dragon yesterday. I have no problem with the dragons that use frost breath, but this one just happened to have fire breath, needless to say it kicked my ass. I see no problem with the dragons.
