The Dragons are SERIOUSLY underpowered.

Search for Blood and white Dragons. They will mess you up. Probably. I almost killed a Blood Dragon, but I was in a REALLY bad spot when it attacked...
This. Blood dragons are a true challenge. Regular dragons pale by comparison

Blood dragons arent significantly harder. the only difference i noted was the name. then again i dont really pay close attention to exactly how long it takes to kill the dragon. That said i run from giants. i kill dragons. :D yet throw a couple bandits at me and im tripping over myself to run away or invis. well specialized bandits anyway. reg bandits no problem but the other kinds are tougher.

Logically it would make sense for a giant to be able to beat a dragon. If you the player, are able to take down a dragon, it's pretty damn reasonable for a 15' tall guy with a huge club to be able to do the same thing.

The strength of Dragons is ultimately in their shouts. When they land, they put themselves in danger to anything which is able to outmanoeuvre them and/or simply stand and bang.

Ah logic. :celebration:

It took me 3 tries to kill the first dragon because I thought they'd be easier than they actually are. Charging it head on, I figured I'd hack away at it and use a couple health potions. It ended with the dragon taking me in it's mouth, killing me, and flinging me half a mile away.

After learning how to fight them, it's gotten much better. For a while I'd be taking them down quickly, but not I'm level 25 and still only know the "Fus" shout (haven't gone to the Greybeards yet) and fighting blood dragons is TOUGH. Their fire will take out like 1/4 of my ~300 health if I don't avoid it.

My strategy is usually to watch it until it flaps it's wings and hovers, then I sneak around it so it doesn't get a good look at me and pelt it with arrows until it comes down, then dual wield and charge it with as much fury as I have.

Curious though. If you don't use magic or arrows, how do you down it? A sword does no good when it's flying above.

You kidding me? On my stealth character they kick my butt.

I'm always lucky because someone comes along to help. :D

Same for me. Yay for guards and Mammoths!

The last time I had a problem was when I was a really low level.
Spoiler
Except for Alduin. I'm on my first battle with him and have been pretty much all day. Any tips, PM me. I've tried magic, staffs, bows, melee and shouts. He's just so... overpowered.

This is definitely true. I can bring down a dragon (eventually), but I have yet to kill a giant or mammoth (15 hours in).

lol, the only time I killed a mammoth was when I was able to separate one mammoth and giant from their group. I peppered the mammoth with arrows for minutes while running away from both it and the giant. I got it to about 1/3 health and as I was running away I could hear/feel the giant behind me then I turned around and suddenly it was gone. Both the mammoth and the giant were gone. I went to where I first saw them and they magically appeared there. Then suddenly the mammoth glitched to about 30 feet in the air and the fall killed it

They did, and they delivered. The scaling is good now. Dragons being strictly leveled was a design decision so that players could consistently unlock shouts. I like that giants and trolls are so strong, makes it feel better when you kill them

Yeah except for the fact that it doesn't synch at all with the game world. Giants are scary but you're guaranteed to kill dragons? Yet everyone is supposed to be afraid of dragons? How did they not fix this in alpha? They should have made some dragons hard. Not just, make it so that they're all easy.
