If you could slap an abstract, nonliving, anthropomorphic or

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 2:33 pm

God, I don't know, there aren't many abstract things that I'm mad at.
Stupidity and ignorance are the only things I can come up with.

Why ignorance though ? I really don't see why people feel ignorance is so negative. Everyone is ignorant in some field. Even people like Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking are ignorant in their own way. How bad being ignorant is can only be relative to specific situations. Someone who is ignorant about cooking can get by just fine as an Engineer but take a chef who is ignorant in that field and put him in the same job and then it is a problem. Ignorance is simply the lack of knowledge, easily cured by experience or the teachings of another. But stupidity which can be defined as the inability to connect the information you have and use them to come to the correct conclusions is quite different and is a perfectly valid thing to look down upon.

That's what FO3 taught me.

You're right. I've been using that quote incorrectly. Well, at least it still kinda makes sense.

Attacking a religion isn't the same as attacking people personally. I respect people's personal choices, I don't respect religion as an institution and what it teaches.

BUT, Angry Eeyore just said he'd slap religion. Since everything else was allowed, so should his comment, because it isn't something immune from criticism, nor should it be.

Myself.

Myself is a hyper critical, self-loathing, deceptive jerk off, and he needs a good smack.

EDIT: If I recall correctly the rules forbade any discussion of religion or lack there of, thus including atheism and anti-theism.

I guess, its just that religion, as you said, is a personal decision, one that people (like myself) take seriously.

I envy you, ironicly Malta has 90 something % catholic majority iirc.
Where I live I criticise religion, and get called a biggot, or ignorant. A religion isnt any less evil because it has "god says so" at the end. Then again, I know people who insist murder is wrong. Then when you point out god murdering people its totally, loving and we cant understand him...

Its those times I wish I could strangle people through my screen.

I see no difference between you being religious (Christian I belive), and that other guy being a nazi. You both have your own views and morals. Yet for some reason, he was considered fair game to attack his beliefs. How is a religious view any different to a political one ? Aside from "God says".

Please, I have yet to have a geninely good reason why I cant treat religious view like I treat political.

I would LOVE to get my 2 cents on this seeing as how Adolf Hitler was a devout Christian but it has been deemed that the religious banter should stop so I will bite my tongue and move on to more acceptable banter.

I would like to slap hate, racism (especially against Afrikaners), anti-religion, and anti-atheism. Nobody should be hated or attacked for their personal beliefs.

I KNOW! Lets talk about Mr. House.

Oh his (virtual) mustache, how does he keep it in such pristine condition? I would like to slap the metaphysical force that decided I could never maintain such a fine face squirrel.

Indeed, that is one sixy moustache. I will one day grow one. Being young doesn't pull a moustache together all that well :(

It only took two posts after a moderator said no religon, for a blurb about religon to be posted. So, if you are all wondering why this thread got closed, just look at most of the mosts between this one and Rohugh's.
