Songs that haunts and amazes you

Here you go; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqjegQRRk_I This is a song by Sleep and I strongly recommend you check it out. I swear hours go by with me listening to this genre, and it seems like less than minutes.

I've listened to most songs in this thread, and this surprised me the most...not my sort of thing, but I've listened to it twice!

This is an awesome EPIC of a song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3ntHpYocc0

Skip to 1:30 if the intro isn't your kinda thing.

About 10 years ago I was listening to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZLJLa2L6yQ while walking home from work at about 3:30am. The song part isn't too "haunting", but the intro bit had me on edge. Still to this day it's the only piece of music I can remember listening to and being sort of jumpy about. It's more the situation than the actual music, but the music certainly helped make the situation more tense than it needed to be.

This song just captivates me every time I hear it, especially when it kicks in around 1:10. I just love the sound, it really was something I listened to over and over again after I watched the episode.

This next one doesn't haunt me but it is so epic and really gets me.

Guitar comes in at 2:20 or so. Love Steve Vai, I consider him the modern day Mozart.

Vai is quite something isn't he? I personally like Malmsteen more but Vai's awesome too.

Wow...that doesn't sound fun at all!

Oh, definitely. That is, I've listened to lots of music that really moved me emotionally

Its quite wonderful and interesting, I think. That patterns of sounds can have such a remarkable effect on us. This reminds me of how easily movies can manipulate your emotions with changes and certain kinds of sounds and music

Also interesting how the effect can wear off with time

Just a very emotional song, about the death of the vocalists father passing away.

It doesn't always wear off, though. It's movies that affect your brain as well as your emotions that last in your mind. If you make people think, the effect won't wear off nearly as easily as it would've if you just made someone laugh or cry.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRJa_8aDZkk is probably one of my favorite songs ever. I got chills the first time I heard it. And pretty much every time since :)

Another song that haunts me is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNZwMG_QUGs. It is creepy in it's own right, but the secondary vocalist is the last recording of The Rev (their drummer) before he died prior to the album's release. RIP
