There's only one rank per perk. Someone on UESP refuses to accept reality and keeps changing everything back to what they want to believe.

Honestly in doubt i would tend to believe the infos provided by "herpedyderp" at reddit. He plays the game and took the time to write all perks down. It's not a mix up of different source infos including old builds demos.

About Daggers, of course I haven't played the game, but I'm pretty sure they fall under the category of one handed weapons (But not part of the sword sub category). The sneak perk is just a topping. It will be easy to test in game: invest in sneak perk Backstab where one handed now do 6*damage and test it with a dagger. And I bet it will do the *6. The Assassin Blade perk is just a specialization and a way to encourage those who want to slit throats.

I like what I see, especially with the heavy armor hand to hand perk among other things. I can see myself playing this game for a long, long time.

Really liking the look of perks. Its painfully hard to choose which ones to go for, which is a good sign, and will definitely encourage me to replay a different characatr at some point.

At the moment I'm thinking of going

Light armour: 10
Single handed: 8 (focus on axe)
Block: 7
Smithing: 5
Enchanting: 13
Restoration: 3
Destruction: 3
Sneaking: 2

Which is 2 too many...but I guess I can loose the sneaking. Would have liked to get some alteration, lockpicking and pickpocketing in....but no space!

The Extra Pockets perk (carrying capacity increased by 100) from pickpocket is really really tempting.
I'm wondering if the the extra skill points granted by enchantments will help toward the eligibility requirements for perks....

I went through them last night, and I think I might spread the perks around a bit. I ended up with:

One Handed - 3
Archery - 3
Sneak - 9
Pickpocket - 6
Lockpicking - 6
Destruction - 5
Smithing - 4
Lt. Armour - 5
Restoration - 3
Enchanting - 2
Block - 2
Speech - 2

That's actually about 50 so I'm not sure about the last two. I might axe a couple in there somewhere.

Yes, its certainly not as clear cut that Daggers don't get the benefit of the damage bonus as the people who were being dismissive (and rude) were saying.

If it no longer mentions that it doesn't include Daggers and actually doesn't give a bonus then that is actually poor game design.
Daggers fall under one handed skill, if a perk isn't specific about a weapon type the perks should benefit them.

I apologize if this has already been asked, but i didnt see it in a quick perusal of the thread. Does anyone know if you have to spend all 5 first tier talents to move on in a tree? for instance, all 5 one handed damage increasers to unlock the next level? Thanks in advance.

No, you don't have too. 1 is enough to move on.

So on the one-handed perk tree, I definitely want to focus on the dual wield branch.

But question; Do the one-handed power attack perks (Fighting Stance, Critical Charge, Savage Strike, Paralyzing Strike) work with dual wielding?

They state "one handed power attacks", which technically a dual wield power attack would be, correct? But the dual wield perks specifically state "dual wielding power attack", so I'm not sure.

well they say "one handed weapons" so they should work.

If they only wanted them to work if you are holding 1 weapon it would say "when using 1 weapon X will happen"

Yea, I'm just wondering those if a specified "dual wield power attack" is separate from a "one handed power attack". There's quite a few things about the perks that I'm curious to see how they work - i.e. can you take a perk that has 2 branches leading into it by filling just 1 branch, or do you need both? Or what the difference is between "one handed power attacks" and "dual wield power attacks"

I believe a power attack is when you hold down the attack button/trigger. So if you hold down both triggers/mouse buttons at the same time, you will do a "dual power attack", i.e. a power attack with both weapons at once, probably with its own cool animation. If you just hold down one button, you will do a single power attack. So the bonus for a dual attack and a single attack won't stack, since you are either doing a dual attack or a single attack at any moment, but never both at the same time, if that makes sense.

As for your other question, you only need to fill one branch to get to a top tier Perk. Example, in Smithing, you can go Steel > Elven > Advanced > Glass > Dragon ... or Steel > Dwarven > Orcish > Ebony > Daedric > Dragon. Either way you get to Dragon; you don't have to do both.

Daggers are not in one handed, they are in stealth, as has been stated numerous times already.
Daggers are NOT in stealth. There is a sneak perk that makes the dagger sneak attack do 15x dmg, but dagger is classified as a one handed weapon.

I love that there are several different build styles inside each skill, conjuration has a necromancer build, Elementalist build, and a ethereal Warrior build, all in one skill.

It's basically impossible to be master in many skills. For example one handed alone has 21 perks. You really need to decide carefully in which skills you want to specialize.

To clarify, for the Smithing skill it has both glass and Daedric leading to dragon smithing. Do you need both to unlock the Dragon Smithing perk, or just one?
