Lesser known refers to how thoroughly tested the patch is. They've only tested it for one week, so it was lesser known ("understood" may be a more helpful word here) than a patch that's been tested for a month or more. Releasing it to the public in waves allows the users' various environments to do the true brunt of the testing before it reaches the largest market. That is essentially why beta testers exist. It's not a stupid concept, it's a time honored and accepted practice. Just done on a larger scale than normal.


That is the most likely problem. That or something else we're forgetting.
