If I can use a bow on them, I'll probably be on one at least once per in game day. Why? Because then I'll finally be able to shoot the sun without those annoying mountains blocking my view.

So am I, but I think Space Marine hit it on the head. It is cool to oppose things that are supposedly implemented only because they're cool.

:shakehead: Not even gonna say anything.

I remember seeing the player getting on a dragon in the dragonborn trailer.

I just dont know about any of it. My character doesnt feel like the dragborn, more of a dragon hunter. Riding a dragon to hunt dragons? I dunno, ill wait n see what its like. But im feeling skeptical.

I just dont understand the hatred here. Odahviing allowes you to ride him, he is willing, because you proved your Thu'um was stronger. Dragons are indeed prideful, but the dragons also give their respect to the one with the strongest Thu'um. Not all dragons like or agree with Alduin, but they follow him simply because his Thu'um was, until now, the strongest ever. Dragons bow to the one with the mightest Thu'um. After you prove once and for all that your Thu'um surpases even Alduins Odahviing vowes to serve you, the one whos Thu'um reigns supreame. He appears whenever you call and does so without complaint. His pride drew him into the trap in Dragonsreach, but he willingly acknowledges your power and willingly decides to come whenever you call. Does this make Odahviing, one of the most prideful dragons known, less of a Dragon for following the way Dova do things?

There is nothing "wrong" about this. This is how the hierarchy of Dragons functions, they follow the one with the strongest Voice. if you notice not all dragons attack you. Eaither because they are not hostle or reconize your statues as the one whos Voice is supreame. Those who -do- attack are also following their nature of domination. But dragons know their place, they know to respect those whos Voice surpasses their own. Even Durneviir, in the Soul Cairn of all places, has heard of and reconizes your supreame mastery of Thu'um by defeating the one who devours the world, the Firstborn of Akatosh, the bringer of the end times, the one whos duty it is to eat the entire world so life can begin again. You have defeated the ultimate dragon, one of the strongest forces in the elder scrolls universe. The dragons acknowledge and respect your superiority, because that too is their nature, to bow to the one who is the strongest.

I guess I care about the universe in a different way than most of you. I dont see a boss fight against a dragon and think "oh boy these dragons are pathetic, lol so much for being bad asses." Regardless of how awsome or pathetic they are mechaniclly, I regard every encounter with the same enthusiasim that I did that first time so long ago. I hear the flapping of wings and the roar in the distance and my hair still stands on the back of my neck, and I think to myself "oh damn, a dragon!" and when that Dragon appears to me and challanges my Voice, I grin, and accept the challange with my heart steeled. I draw my weapon and inhale my breath to prepare for the encounter. Then when at last my foe lies defeated upon the ground, I smile to myself feeling accomplished, knowing that my Voice overcame such an experienced and powerful opponent.

idk maybe I'm just weird -shrug-

Forget dragon riding, I really enjoyed reading this. Well written, my friend!

I'm going to wait and see for myself. It looks interesting, but I'm worried its going to make Skyrim seem tiny.
The fast travel system already does that somewhat, hence why I personally try to avoid using it.

I personaly dislike the fast travel by clicking icons on the map, so I installed a mod to disable it. I still use the carriages on occasion, but for the most part I ride around the province on horseback because it's a lot more fun that way :).

Also, I voted that I don't care about dragon riding and won't ride one for the above reason.

If it's allowed on the mainland, then it'd be silly; it'd ruin the whole scale of Skyrim, and it's feel of a wide world. Just look at WoW...

It will be interesting to see the landing animations. Fly everywhere is the best. It is better than fast travel and more engaging.

I was referring to KillaBee and his if you don't agree with me your just trying to be cool attitude.

Personally as long as it's completely optional I don't really care even less so if the Dunmer aspect of this DLC is done correctly which is more my priority than dragon riding.

I actually came up with it. That's why I am asking.
Look, there are enoug people with reasons to be sceptical about Dragon mounts. But it is also quite virulent that everything "mainstream" is the devil for some people.
I can somewhat relate to that opinion, but not in any case. I was sceptical about Dragon mounts, too. Primarily because I would chose better writing any day above Dragon mounts, werebears and even a living Emperor Crab boss... but after all I just think this poll is not representative. Like 90 percent of the audience will be in awe of the Dragon mounts. We are an exclusive circle of nerds here. And I came to like the idea of Dragon mounts. It's even lore-friendly.

Personally as long as it's completely optional I don't really care even less so if the Dunmer aspect of this DLC is done correctly which is more my priority than dragon riding.

The Dunmer are the thing in the DLC I am the most excited about - by far.
Followed by Hermaeus Mora and Apocrypha on place two.

Werebear riding a dragon, panda style. The coolness factor is through the roof.

Not sure why but when I try to vote on the first part about if I like it or not it does not let me vote...however I like the idea and I was dissappointed when I learned initially that there would not be dragon mounts in Skyrim and I am happy to see that Bethesda changed their view on this.

If the choice was between riding a dragon or patching the current DLC's, I'd pick the patch.

As buggy as the last two DLC's were all I can do is wonder how this one will break my game.

What has the world come to when people disagree with being able to ride dragons!? It's possible within the Lore and it's what's going to happen. If you don't like it then please remove your man beard and take a step outside.

Honestly though, this defeats the whole purpose of subduing Odaviing and asking him to bring you to Skuldaffin when you could just freely land there with another dragon. That is unless Bethesda makes and overhauls the Main quest of the vanilla game by removing Season Unending and The Fallen by adding alternative ways to reach Skuldaffin

Way to screw up and put words in my mouth. Just because I (and by I, I mean Space Marine) said that it is cool to go against what is widely considered cool, doesnt mean I said everyone who disagrees with me is trying to be cool. No doubt a lot of people go against things like dragonriding because of that, but I did not say everyone does.

Now if I said everyone who disagrees is only doing it to be cool, then you'd have a leg to stand on. Must be your guilty conscience.

And I thought you weren't gonna say anything? I wish you would have kept that promise.

I know you're trying to be funny and make a joke, but at the moment I'm not in a joking mood. Quit trying to put down dragon riding by linking to stupid picks.

It's as stupid as calling out random were creatures to belittle people who like werebears.
