Ok, if you don't like the game why are you here? I had no plan to buy the game until I had tried the public beta as i knew it was an huge chance I would not like it.

No not liking it does not say bad game, just that I don't like it, see my tomb raider comment.

Well I signed up for the beta, got in a month later to my surprise, that made me interested in the game and I started in this forum.

I am going to play ESO anyways, but this pay gate did put a nail in ESO's coffin. There are only so many nails before the lid is sealed.

I have no problem with any of this CE stuff but only if it ends here. What worries me is that there will be to much temptation for them and they will start offering bonus content for cash on a regular basis. That is when I start counting the days before I cancel my account and look elsewhere for my entertainment.

I have the same feelings. I will gave credit when credit is due. If I see a mistake, I will tell that also.

I'm going to now go create an account over on the BMW forums to tell them I am not buying their car. Ford puts out a car that is cheaper to buy and maintain and BMW are just being greedy.

The reference to a pay gate seems inaccurate. This is a pre-order special edition bonus, not an in game transaction. Lots of games do bonus content for extra money prior to release, some of it good some of it rubbish. Many of the good ones provide advantageous functionality such as XP bonus, rapid recovery, special weaponry or free beer (a cape in Age of Conan)

If they start charging for beneficial content in-game I will be shaking my fist at ZeniMax as well. Although I wont care if it is for things like server swaps between consoles and PC or if they change to a hybrid payment system (which would not surprise me as it is becoming the norm in the industry).

I hope ZeniMax stick to their guns and keep the exclusive content Exclusive

What you and many other people of like mind don't seem to understand is that one of the main selling features of this game is the supposed distaste for the current pay models. They have gone out of their way to market this game as the anti-p2w. The anti-cash shop. They have set themselves up as the prime example of the perks for a subscription model. They have labeled themselves the champions of the nastalgic MMO....

there would have been problems with this but their whole stance since day one just makes it worse.
