DLC Problems in Poland

Post » Thu Dec 09, 2010 1:07 am

I don't understand it. I'm playing the English version of the game via Steam. I want to play the English version of the addon. Why am I not allowed to buy it?

It just boggles my mind, a company which does not want profit?
They making people to pirate because they have no another choice, then they will have possibility to blame people for piracy. Have no another idea.

P.S. 1C have to burn in the hell forever.

Thanks to the user who figured out that different F:NV versions have different achievements, I've been playing Dead Money for the last few days. Having 55 achievements I was confident that buying the DLC from D2D would work - and it did. My game DVD box is published by Bethesda. Only the bad thing with byuing from D2D was I missed the discount code that was active in the end of last month.

My version has 50 achievements. I have now moved to Holland (for 3 months) and can buy Dead Money through Steam. What do you guys think - will it work or not? I have no idea and I don't want to lose my money...

Well, that much I knew already. But the question is what will happen if I buy Dead Money from D2D or from Steam (I can do it since I'm now in Holland)?

DLC is just .esm script and 2 .bsa packages and can be installed like any other mod, no matter where you get them.

Cool, thanks.

Still, I guess I won't get the official Steam achievements this way (not that I care too much) :D

reply from D2D..

Hi there,

The game DLC key you've purchased should be unlocked by steam when they enable your version for the latest patch. In the meantime I can offer you 25% off a game of your choice. You will need to let me know which game you'd like the coupon to be valid for and I'll arrange that for you.

reply from Steam Support...

Hello *****,

Ah, the DLC is not available for purchase in Hungary per the publisher's restrictions.

We are not able to adjust the subscription on your account and even if we were able to you wouldn't be able to purchase the DLC based off your location.

All restrictions by country are decided by the publisher of the game and you will need to contact them in regards to this:

This is absolutely unacceptable! I, too, live in Poland and I got FNV via Steam, paying a full price (which is btw over twice the price of the local boxed version!) And now, despite paying 50€ for a full product, I get a half-functioning merchandise and I am treated like a inferior customer, given a vague promise that maybe, someday, somehow I get what the rest of the "civilised" world already got? So wtf did I pay for exactly? Please, do explain to me how this is supposed to be right because in my book such tricky deals are called a scam!

I dont give a flying f... who, where and why distributes this game - if it's at full price I, as a paying customer, expect it to be fully functional! Otherwise there is no point in buying.

This is unbelieveable how we're being treated. No wonder people who pirate games laugh in our face!

+1

Shame on you Bethesda! We WANT the same rights (updates, DLC) like the other countries!!! We paid the full price (or more) like the others, but no patch, no available DLC(s)!!

Would you, kind people of the civilised world, believe when I told you that Dead Money DLC was still NOT available in our backwater country?

I guess buying anything that's been ill-touched by CENEGA means you're being treated as a royal dumba$$. So stay away, if you can.

And to think these worthless frakkers are distributing Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I wonder what happens this time around. I know I'll think twice before buying it from Steam, as the NV example clearly shows that paying the full price for the product does not mean you are actually receiving it, thanks to the ridiculous region-lock. Be wary.

And to Cenega and all crappy distributors of the world: I hope you go out of business like yesterday.

Actually, the DLC has only just appeared on Steam in Poland for 10 e. However, there is no update to the original game. I will buy it and see if it works (I have the Cenega version).

Quick update - it seems that it works without any problems, about 30 secs into the game you receive information about the level cap increase and the Sierra Madre Casino quest. The update to the original game does not seem to be necessary.

But Steam achievements still not available.

And it is english only. Months of waiting - and it isn't translated.

That is correct, however, the achievements I can live without (this will probably not be updated until Cenega releases box edition of this DLC) and I am playing it in English anyways, so I do not care about the lack of translation. I just want all the other DLCs on time.

1,5 months, if you please, since it was originally made available on PC on February 22. All they did now was to flip the switch on Steam to make the DLC available in Eastern Europe. The DLC files have not been altered in any way from the original release. Besides, does it matter what was available on torrent sites? The important thing is that DLC is finally on Steam and it is working with Cenega version of the game.

I may have encountered a bug, however, the level cap was supposed to be raised to 35 and I am now 38 already; my gut-feeling is that there may be no limit at all at the moment.

Same problem and I'm still searching for some help. I buy Fallout: NV from D2D to avoid problems with "the same but different" version of F:NV from Cenega Poland and, as usual, problems appear. Bla bla I don't have right game, so I can't buy from STEAM. Bla bla D2D is not selling DLC to my country (region restricted). D2D support generally told me to beat it - they are not selling and end of topic, but STEAM support told me to buy DLC from Games for Windows Live Marketplace. My question is: where is it? There are DLCs to Fallout 3, but no Dead Money...

Maybe someone (from Poland, who bought D2D version) can help me?

best regards
Mateusz
