What he said followers have actual personality in that game.

"If these super mutants take us hostage and make us fix toasters for them, it's on you boss."

Same thing happened in 2009. Major releases during include;

Uncharted 2
Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Street Fighter IV
God of War collection
Batman Arkham Asylum
Forza 3
Killzone 2
Demon's Souls
Dragon Age Origins
Resident Evil 5.

They're always going to be confronted with stuff like this. People will buy Dawnguard in droves regardless. Bethesda knows this.

WE also have so many games coming out early 2013 too. Here's a list these are even bigger titles than yours.

COD Black Ops 2
Resident Evil 6
Assassins Creed 3
Darksouls 2
Far Cry 3
Borderlands 2
Dead or Alive 5
That's just 2012 heres early 2013

The Last of Us
AMC's The Walking Dead (You play as Daryl, its based on the show)
GTA 5
Doom 4
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs
Bioshock: Infinite
Crysis 3
Need For Speed Most Wanted (PS3 Remake, made by Criterion yay)
Devil May Cry

As you can see ther are too many games coming out for Bethesda to delay Dawnguard's Release

(Reasonable Doubt)

Eh, ok. You have me on the tweet. But, as far as Gstaff's comment goes; It was possibly in response to the 3-4 pages of uproar. Not news concerning Dawngaurd's release.

People still put COD games on their top games? Why? Why do this? The same [censored] each year with a slight paintjob and a generic story/premise.

On topic though; isn't that tweet basically insanely contradicting what Bethesda said in the past about the release?

How stable is it on PS3? I've heard their Ultimate Edition is about as unplayable as the base game was when it launched.

Oi no, that's the exception.
As we've discussed in previous threads, the PS3 issues actually originated in New Vegas, hence why Bethesda must've known about it when producing Skyrim: because they watched Obsidian struggle to fix it, with the end statement of New Vegas' project director being "PS3's design and the Bethesda game engine just DO NOT mix," basically.
It IS playable on PS3 and stable when it does work, but you have to be willing to accept that by the time you've completed, say...many of the main game sidequests and two of the DLCs, it's time to start a new character. Basically the character file size, as it grows, slows down the game, and something about visiting the DLCs slows it down quite a bit, so managing to visit all four on one character isn't so likely.

If you can avoid buying it for PS3, even if it means buying it for PC and playing on minimum graphics settings, do it. Some people report having flawless copys of the Ultimate Edition, but it's 50-50, which is still pretty bad odds.
Take a look at the New Vegas PS3 forum, for an idea. Or hell post your own thread and ask people if they have issues with it or not.

But New Vegas is definitely worth getting if you can. It's ridiculously better written than anything Bethesda's ever produced, characters have realistic, believable personalities with multiple layers, weapons and armor are balanced, there's multitudes of ways to build various powerful characters, etc etc etc.

*snip*

So what are you saying, that Bethesda should botch/rush them and release them before major releases? You people don't get it. You completely missed the point.

There will ALWAYS be major releases in a certain period, there will always be competition. Same thing happened with Fallout NV and Fallout 3, and I haven't even mentioned some of the other major titles that come out in those years. Regardless of what games are being released in that time frame, the DLC will still sell well enough.

Obviously Bethesda think they've made enough money off of Dawnguard if they don't want to get it out before other big titles are released. They're only going to hurt themselves in the long run.

They do it to feel cool/mainstream.

Then clearly Dawnguard is still going to be on PC/PS3. Rolling out the 1.7 beta with, as i hear and read, Dawnguard components and then just cancelling the release would cause insane damage to their reputation. Not to mention the loss of sales.

Who knows, maybe you were right; maybe today is the actual last day of the contract and tomorrow they can talk about the subject more freely.

In regard to the "shut up" contract? Nah, the 1.7 patch they tweeted about has optimizations for Dawngaurd. It never specifically stated information about the release itself. So let's just see about tomorrow... And not at 12:00 AM either...

Why did this turn into a WoW forum?...

I think Beth should still be a little while yet on the release of dawnguard for ps3, they gotta ship the game to a company that does all their transfers from 360 to ps3, they gotta send it back, beth has to quality test it, fix any bugs, figure out how to make it run as efficiently and smoothly as possible on ps3, send it back to the transfer company for them to update it, they send it back to beth, beth does another quality test, then they gotta send it to sony for approval, sony has to take their sweet time with everything like they always do, and then give beth the okay... and then beth has to make sure the servers can handle all the craziness about to ensue and deal with lawyers, blah, blah, blah..... then we get the game on ps3.

it would sure be nice if the "one month on 360 only before competitors get it" thing was actually one month though. But it's easy to get over that frustration when you think about how effed up the programming on ps3 is compared to 360 and pc and the complications of going through different companies to release your games. Sony won't be happy with beth about the dlc being delayed a month on ps3 so 360 could have it all to itself... i wonder if sony is being difficult on purpose?

anyways... I guess I'll just have to be patient a bit longer.

Agreed. If its not out in time for me to play through it before GW2 gets rolling doubt I'm going to bother with it. This 360 exclusive deal is crap, I'm considering just not getting any Skyrim DLC because of it. I get mod's galore on PC anyway.

Sounds more logical than it ending last night... Day 30 isn't even over. Let's hope that's the case.

But as i read from one of the previous threads; i believe someone said that the PC version was "about" finished by the time DG released on Xbox. Something like that, i think.

EDIT: Here we go, found it. Victor Edge, on 26 July 2012 - 11:51 PM, said:

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Dawnguard's been done for a long time now. Hell, the only reason people haven't used the xbox version on the PC is because converting the ddx files to dds would take ages. They've been sitting on it due to the timed exclusivity deal.

So how come its not out on the PC then? I can understand the PS3 but the PC has everything there for the dawnguard release.

S_cks....Just don't do it to Fallout....Thank you.

I wouldn't doubt that *all* of the DLC for Fallout 4 will have artificial delays imposed upon non-XBox versions.

It's Microsoft's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embrace,_extend_and_extinguish strategy, textbook-done.

First they embrace console gaming.

The ensnaring of game developers and publishers with crap like the artificial delay of DLC is part of Extend.

Eventually, they'll pull the real d...."duck" move and say "Make DLC permanently exclusive, or we'll bar you from publishing for the X-Box". That's when the Exterminate phase starts.

Said it before, but here it is again.....It's very possible that the "30 exclusive" time didn't start until it was released for ALL Xbox 360 platforms....that would include the FIGS version, which didn't get released til roughly 2 Weeks after it was released for the English versions....

I really don't see why they haven't released this already. If it's playable on xbox then surely it's playable on PC as we speak.

On topic, I really don't see the outrage about the delay with Dawnguard.

It's -just- an incredibly buggy sub-par DLC...
