Ambiguity is less important than certainty.
Staves, plural of staff.

There you go.

Actually, in the hints section of the loading screen it says that a mage who is skilled in destruction will get better use of a staff of fire balls.

But they are only referring to one staff. Singular is staff. Plural is stave. There. Now back on topic....

I understand Grammer, though it was an implication. Certain schools effect certain staffs.

I don't think so, I think the spell works only with personally cast spells, not enchanted weapons.

The fire/frost/shock damage buffs in the destruction tree effect their respective damage on a sword enchant (have to have the perks before you enchant it). I would think, and read (I really wish I could remember the source) that silent spell would work the same way.

But, to get back on topic, perks should be applicable to weapons, be it sword or staff.

Also, the twin soul perk works on summoning staffs (or staves as the debate goes). Yet another perk that effects them.

Well, there is a store in the Imperial City known as "Rindir's Staffs".

It's not Rindir's Staves.

Not that it really makes any difference. As long as one understands the intent of the post, grammar and spelling is a minor issue. I am quick to frown on those that jump at the chance to correct others.

On Topic...
Just save your game, get the perk, try a staff to see if it works, then revert to your save if you are unhappy with the results.
But I'm saving this quest for a special character and I've never gotten the staff before.
What does that have to do with it? Just save, get ANY staff, test and reload.

Are you trying to say staffs or some other thing?
And yeah there are other perks and potions that affect weapon damage but the silent spell casting perk doesn't since the staffs are in no way related to your magic skill in the area they use.
Staves is the plural form of staff.

It can be either staves or staffs lol. Why is everyone making such a fuss, both are grammatically correct and mean exactly the same thing.

As for the question at hand, I don't think the perk does work for staffs/staves, unfortunately.

I forgot to mention the particular staff I'm wondering about is the Sanguine Rose. And none of my characters have quiet casting now. Don't want to get all the perks if it doesn't work.

I believe the cast is hidden but anything hit with it still gets spotted BUT since that staff does not hit anything you may be fine

It can be either way yes, but since they replied to somone asking if he was trying to say staffs I don't see how thats relevant.
