idk why but whatever I set in cfg file my game just crashes after "meteor video"
without cfg I got textures mess

I assure you, the file name is rageConfig.cfg. It's in the Base folder. Not sure what else I can do other than try to copy and paste the text in again. Thanks anyway!

I've the same problem (config not loading). Is it possible that you, like me, installed Steam/Rage not on the C drive?

Nope. Have the retail version installed on my C drive.

I have Steam + steam games installed on my D: drive and it works just fine. I think that the problem is that when people save the rageConfig.cfg they save it with the wrong file extension, instead of rageConfig.cfg they are saving it like rageConfig.cfg.txt due to that they don't have the computer set to show file extensions.

Thats indeed what i meant in my previous post.

If they type "exec" in their console and hit "TAB" they should see all exec files and their file extensions . Other wise they have to list the directory via the CMD.

Why are people still talking about cfg's? All the commands are locked right now and do not affect the game.

Only some commands are locked not all, and we are talking about stuff that has nothing to do with in-game console commands.

I did it right... dont know why but first time when I was experimenting with config file it worked for game. but I wasnt able to set it "properly" for Rage.
and one day when trying some1s cfg settings it failed and I ended on this problem.
I have no idea what I messed up. And I already gave up on this game

guess what... I created new cfg file, launched game and before starting campaign I changed all settings in game to low. and it worked
but still textures are f***ed

I'm struggling to get the game to re-play myself. I finished it and wanted to play it again without the console being enabled so I can get the game finished including all achievements. A no go up till now.

is there anything I can add / change for the tool? As there's no new update as of yet I doubt new/altered settings will help?

I can how ever update the tool so CFG sharing between members can be more simple like with the Skyrim CFG maker.
