I dispatch my vampire foes without effort, i dont know why everyone else has problems with them. I can see them getting harder as you progress, but i am level 68 and i have no issues.

It's not dispatching them that is the problem, it's dispatching them before they dispatch a few citizens.

Which most people do with zero issues.

Yes but at level 81 two master vampires can kill a citizen in about 1 hit even on master...so yeah.

Perhaps, but since it was mentioned on a review site (yes, yes I know the issues with that) something will probably be done about it...wonder if Forbes will pick it up...

If you're level 81 and can't knock off two Master Vamps with little difficulty... I'd start looking over your character build again.

Right...let's overlook the issue where the vampires spawn at a different entrance to the city no where near you...and your character not being able to magically teleport to the area in time to stop the attacks at all...you can now carry on with the personal attacks!

like I've said before, I enjoy the vampire attacks and wish there where more encounters with them on the roads, in the cities, in various dungeons etc.

They make the game that much more interesting.

If anything there needs to be more Dragon and Vampire attacks!

There was no personal attack in my post. It was a general statement based on my observation of the type of devastation that a level 81 character can to to enemies with having almost every Skill at 100.

If at level 81 a character cannot make it into a battle where the Guards are playing cannon fodder and dispatch them before they get a free swing on any other NPC... there must be a discrepancy with the allocation of possible Perk points.

A level 81 character should be able to decimate damn near any enemy one happens to come across.

Very well then, so how would this level 81 decimate an enemy that is no where near him that is already killing people?

This is the bit that really concerns and what I think some people aren't bearing in mind. Ok some people don't care if NPCs die - some massacre them all themselves -fine for them. Some people seem to be enjoying the drama - fine. But forever - this stuff going on every time you play Skyrim as long as Dawnguard is installed and you're level 10 - c'mon. Zombie apocalypse mods are fun, buit not the sort of thing you want permanently installed. I can't get my head round it. Bethesda's whole pitch is you do what you want when you want. Want to ignore the MQ? Fine. Want to have 20 quests on the go? Fine. Want to start a quest and finish it 80 hours later when you've done eberything else? Fine. It's one of their major selling points. Not Want to do blood on the ice while you totally ignore Dawnguard? Fine - it's just vampires might keep spawning and killing people while you do. A DLC should not actively interfere with the core game in a dramatic fashion whether you're doing itsquests or not. Who the hell at Bethesda dreamed this up?!?

For the people who are having the guards manage this and it's not that apocalyptic - can you really see this remaining fun in two months time when you're bored of the Dawnguard quests but still want the extra gear and abilities?

Think this sums it up rather well....good post merv

uriel is being a [censored], only a [censored] would think that this 'feature' should be kept in just because he isnt having any problems. if a feature is breaking someones game it should be removed

I "could" decimate them quite easily "if" there weren't a bunch of npcs in the way. So tell me, how do I decimate at least 2 vampires no where near me where there are npcs in the way, and if I do try to make an attack from far away I end up hitting one of them?

Edit: Also, to adress your other point, what if they ignore the guards and just keep going after the npcs? Because I don't know about you, but the guards are the npcs they go after last.

You do have a Sprint button, right?

Whirlwind Sprint Shout?

All of the tools are there just waiting to be properly utilized.

Fast Travel to Dragonsreach, exit into Whiterun, Vampires spawn at Whiterun main gate.

Time it takes me to get down there, people are dead/dying.

And by the time you get there people are still dead...you could even use slow time and watch the vampires kill the npcs in slow motion!

Do fear spells work? That way they wouldn't be hitting back at least giving you more time. Or am I wrong? I'm not a big fan of using fear spells.

stamina runs out and sprinting isnt fast enough, whirlwind sprint is quick but lacks maneuverablity and runs out in a split second. you still havent got a good plan of preventing this. sprint and whirlwind sprint isnt going to help you if vampires are already slaughtering npc's on the other side of town...

You would need the 90 Illusion perk that effects daedra, undead, and automatons to be able to fear a vampire.

If you can't Sprint across one of Tamriel's cities... did we place any stat points into Stamina?

Uriel, this is getting ridiculous.

Not only do we now have to check behind our backs wherever we go, now we need an anti-vampire attack build? Some characters I have may never experience Dawnguard because I choose for them not too, should I have to uninstall the DLC to achieve this and corrupt other characters? No.

A lot of the betas were probably using new characters to run through the DLC. The problems I've heard about is that high level vampires are oneshotting non scaling npcs, making saving them rather impossible.

Was thinking more the restoration make undead go bang now! spells but then you need a pretty high level in that also to affect higher level mobs.

You're not adressing my point. How do I stop an npc from dieing when it takes one hit to kill them? Only takes 1 second for them to die, and a couple for me to get there even utilizing these options.
