Reason I believe Serana couldn't be married

Post » Wed Nov 21, 2012 12:42 am

I believe Is because such a vast majority of people who play Skyrim would choose her over anyone because quite frankly she is the damn hottest vampire in the game and she is the only follower out of everyone who actually has a story and a personality. All the other wives and followers feel like characters that are just "there" but don't really feel like someone we could marry ya know.

And she is a follower of Molag Bal (atleast I assume she still is) and her past is long and cold at heart. She believes that there is no way Mara would ever give her blessing between 2 people who would wed under the following of an evil dark lord which is understandable because during her time she probably helped Harkon sacrifice 1000 innocents in the name of Molag Bal all for the sake of Vampirism. So yeah she more likely would get smited by Mara rather than allow her to marry anyone.

Still though I think there should've been a "marriage in the name of Molag Bal" and not have Mara give her blessing. Who needs Mara anyway to get married?

Everyone does because she's the Goddess of love and junk.

Now you went ahead and confused me. Let's hide our stupidity with interesting facts from the wiki.

Dibella is the goddess of love and beauty.
Mara, a goddess of the Nine Divines, is considered the mother-goddess and goddess of love. Some consider her as a universal goddess.

Well that was less than unhelpful...

Marriage isn't necessary. Your practically in a relationship with her anyway.

But you don't get the "benefits" like if you were married. :hubbahubba:

And by benefits I mean the extra gold they give you and such..

So if I marry under Mara I get gold then? Well I'm sold on that! So long as theirs some mutual advantage that I get for getting married I'll marry someone for the gold they can make me and not complain about it! Amen...

 LOL!

Well, I'm doing just fine with it. Really, why would you want to marry her? She's by far the best companion out there (imho) so keeping her at home cooking just wouldn't do. That's Aela's job!...and it's Lydia's job to clean the house and oil my armor!...and when I get home after a long day of killing things I get to kick back with all three. Bow-chika-wow-wow! :bunny:

After what she has been through with her family and Molag Bal, she is probably just damaged goods like Saphire from Riften and will probably never be interested in marraige.

Yes I do. I'm currently playing a Tim Tebow build and the object is to try and save myself for marriage.

Seriously after her comments about becoming a vampire and her not telling exactly what it took to become one. I can only assume Molag Bal wrecked her for all other men or mir. Have you seen that dudes mace? Ouch!

Agree with the OP! There is a damn Altar of Molag Bal in the Cathedral of Castle Volkihar! Hello Bethesda, that is enough! How about a marriage ceremony where Serana drinks from the fountain as well as the player to be bound in immortal, unholy matremony?
