True. But in that case they should have released Dragonborn before Hearthfire. Get the exclusivity deal out of the way and then release the rest of the DLC aof all the re platforms at the same time. I know why they did the exclusivity deal, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. You developed the game for three platform's, Bethesda. Treat them all equally.
Except that Bethesda is not the first game company to ever accept money for timed-exclusivity on DLC (or platform-exclusive DLC altogether) -- for example, the PS3 version of
Arkham Asylum features the Sony-exclusive Joker content, and the PS3 is getting platform-exclusive
Assassin's Creed III content, as well, which neither the Xbox 360 or PC will be receiving.
Besides which, as PC gamers, we have access to mods galore, which none of the consoles have -- I'll be getting
Dragonborn when it finally releases on PC, but in the meantime, I am in no way bereft of new content to enjoy on this platform, either. It's all a matter of perspective.
I dont consider Hearthfire a true DLC. Its just a tiny, simple add-on.
Dawn Guard is a true DLC. So is DragonBorn.
So, point null.
Technically speaking (as Alexander J. Velicky points out above),
any new content which is released by a studio via online download is "DLC," regardless of whether it's a major gameplay expansion, a stronghold-builder (like
Hearthfire), or even horse-armor and the like. You probably meant "true expansion," rather than "true DLC."
