PC Release Date [merged topics]

I noticed something. With the previous dlc's the announcement trailer was to be viewed on www.elderscrolls.com right at the first day.

With Dragonborn this is not the case. Something to do with microsoft's exclusive contract perhaps?

All I know is on the Bethblog, it only states the 360 and Dec. 4th.

However... the game is ported from the 360. So we might have to wait til they are done porting it to PC. (Sorry PS3 players.. it only makes sense for them to give you DG first before Dragonborn..)

Its definitly coming to xbox first. I use both the xbox and the pc and i like both, but, i think bethesda should realease dlc for everyone on the first day even for the ps3

I have only heard the the xbox release date so far i agree that they should be released at the same time but pc usually comes after and there is no world on any dlc for ps3 so far apart from that it is coming

At this point in the game, don't bother even considering a ps3 release as plausible.

first two major dlc get exclusivity for xbox. that was the deal. now i understand why it would go to xbox first anyway due to it being the priority platform [makes them the most money] and pc would probably take a bit more optimization.

As a PC player I'll just say this, if Dragonborn is yet another 360 exclusive I won't be buying it. Period. From my understanding the exclusivity deal was for the first two DLC's only. We're on DLC 3 now, so the deal should be over. And I don't care if Microsoft considered Hearthfire too "small" to count as the second DLC. If Horse Armor from Oblivion counts as DLC than so dose Hearthfire. So either Zenimax/Bethesda lied or there is something they're not telling us. So I'll just save my money. If I want a dose of Morrowind nostalgia I'll just, you know, play Morrowind.

Still the people I really feel sorry for are the PS3 players. I iwouldn't blame thore guys if they never bought another Bethesda game again.

True. But in that case they should have released Dragonborn before Hearthfire. Get the exclusivity deal out of the way and then release the rest of the DLC aof all the re platforms at the same time. I know why they did the exclusivity deal, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. You developed the game for three platform's, Bethesda. Treat them all equally.

I wonder if they even try to make the exclusivity for Xbox. It's Decemeber. Holiday season. The holy grail of sales. Making the exlusivity and releasing Dragonborn for pc in January is just plain stupid.

why would they have waited with releasing Hearthfire a month after it was released on the xbox 360 for us PC players?
My guess is that DB will be released in 2 weeks for the PC after its release on the 360.

That's a good point. With the Christmas shopping season comming up you would think Bethesda would want to get Dragonborn out for all three platforms ASAP, especially since Skyrim is a year old now and the new DLC might reignite the intrest of some PC and PS3 players who have long since put Skyrim up on the shelf and moved on.

i dont know if this one will actually be exclusive or not. but honestly, you probably dont want them to get launched the same day. taking their time with a port is better than patching it post release. that way the bugs are not so glaring. it happens :P

It doesn't make sense, which is why I wish Bethesda would actually tell us what's going on. Is Dragonborn a 30 day Xbox esclusive or not? About when can PC/PS3 users expect to get it? A little clarity would go a long way.

PC would not need optimisation. If anything the PC version could do with some un optimisation.

I really hope Dragonborn is not another DLC with Xbox exclusivity, it makes no sense for Bethesda Game Studios to release for only 1 platform during the holiday shopping season if they want to maximize sales. I play on PC, but I would still prefer that all the platforms receive the DLC at the same time. I know it's probably harder for Bethesda to code for the PS3 considering all the problems they have had just getting the base game to run on the platform, but it would be nice for all the platforms to get content at the same time just to stop the bickering and infighting over any platform's supposed supremacy. Please Bethesda, unite the comunity with your game, don't divide us.

It does if it was financially viable. People are going to buy DB for PC no matter when it comes out (apart from one or two disgruntled customers who are on these forums), so assuming the sum from MS was sufficient.. why not?

Gstaff, can you possibly give us some kind of clue on this? There's new DLC coming for PC/PS3 "soon," but is it Dragonborn? Will it be released on the same day??

This really svcks not knowing. It's the worst. Please just tell us what deals are in place, so we know what to expect!! Wondering svcks!!!!!!!! :(:(:(

Could you guys please refrain from derailing the topic. I was just wondering why the hearthfire video is still up instead of the dragonborn trailer. I think it has to do with hearthfire being the last timed exclusive for microsoft. The contract might actually state something like xbox timed exclusives staying on the elder scroll's main web page.
