So from what little information and videos I've seen now, which may or may not be 100% accurate I am so dissapointed right now I can't even describe it. I've been playing TES games for ever and ever, and my friends and I have talked about how awesome a TES MMO would be since Morrowind first came out a decade ago. When I heard about the rights for the web domain names etc being bought for Elder Scrolls Online I knew they were going to make one... It was such an awesome moment. Ten years and It was actually going to happen. But then I see It's supposedly going to be... excusively 3rd person? No first person? That is literally the ONLY thing I wanted in this game since the day I played Morrowind for the first time.

Then I saw the screenshots and cutscenes. This looks like WoW. I don't think it looks as good as Oblivion did, definately not better. Then I heard them talking about gameplay. This is basically ANOTHER WoW clone with some nifty new ideas added. I really hope to god that isn't true though. If I wanted to play something that was pretty much WoW with a new combat system, I'd play TERA Online. Oh wait, I am and it's kinda boring. Or If I wanted to play an updated WoW clone I'd go play SWOTOR. Oh wait, it's terrible.

So basically it's the game we always wanted but with none of the really important things we wanted, by the looks of it. At this point I couldn't care less about anything other than being able to play TESOnline in First Person. But I guess that's not gonna happen. Ten year letdown, Gg Bethesda. So depressing.

I can understand the initial dissapointment, I have been playing TES since Arena....however, simply complaining to complain without even offering a suggestion on improvement is a bit narrow minded. And as others have already said, the game is not due to come out till 2013 (we don't even know when in 2013 it could be December which puts this still year and half away) ontop of that they aren't even in beta phase yet. If it is too painful then yes come back in a year and see what it is like. Or you could hit some of the more positive and constructive posts and see what others are saying. We don't need more depression on the forums, it is a bit early to cry wolf.

I have played mmo's in first person (Everquest). It was fun but I still prefer 3rd. You obviously know more of whats going on around you and stuff. I don't know why so many people are worried what the art style looks like, that not what is going to make it a great game..

Exactly what I think. Graphics are pretty low on my measure of game quality. I would gladly sacrifice graphic quality for 200+ PvP battles.

I agree, they've created a mess, maybe on purpose, everyone cry/whine so much they dont need marketting at all. One thing is for sure when this sh1tstorm hits, it hits hard.

It's Zenimax Online that is making TESO with cooperation from Bethesda for the sake of lore and such.

Not according to ALL reporters. MMORPG had good remarks regarding combat including something about it being a lot different than whats out there now. And they actually played it, not just watched it.

every thread has at least one defensive person in it. WHY!? whats your problem with people that have valid complains. Complaints make games better (if they have a point wich this one have) as it stands they are for the most part ignoring it (they have shown however that they might actually be willing to innovate a bit)

Has it worked yet? Well see on the earliest game informer reports they said "non real time combat" suddenly its "action based combat" huh? Just complain more (and have an actual point) and they will be forced to listen. And if they dont and it actually svcks. Boycot it!

Just in simple terms. Imagine a Friend of yours has comissioned something from you, maybe youre an artist, lets say he wants you to paint a picture of him. Now imagine you add a detail that you think fits, lets also say your friend doenst like that detail at all. So what should he do? Say you should do your thing? You wont even know he doesnt like what you are doing, and in the end he will be upset with it, and you probably wont be paid.
On the other hand if he tells you youre screwing up chances are you want to fix it, you want to be paid after all, not to mention staying on good terms with your friend.

I can really understand why people are disappointed, lots of people have waited first person MMO probably very long time ( I mean decent, nothing like Darkfall, Fallen Earth, Mortal Online, etc) So why cant Bethesda make own "Skyrim Online Mod". 2-4 person Skyrim. I'd play it myself. Something like D3, people come and go and mosnters scale up and down, even increase or decrease in numbers.

Just because it's going to be in third person it's a WoW clone? That hardly makes any sense at all... You obviously haven't seen the graphics (which don't matter at all) because they are way better than world of warcraft. This game is going to be awesome no matter what cause it's from freakin bethesda.

The only concern I have is the amount of bugs that are going to be in-game in the beginning stages of the game and how fast they're actually going to patch their game.

ive seen enaugh to know that if it continues this trend i will not invest my money into this product. this is criticism. Its how you make things better. Of course im not a professional. But the difference between a Game Developer and an Artist is the following: The Artist does it for the Art the Dev does it for the Consumer. Who is that omnious consumer i speak of? ME! or YOU or any other person potentially willing to buy the Product.
And YET there are people in here, that are willing to pay money for this, that simply complain about any kind of critizism and dont tell me they are just debunking the criticism, mostly they are not. I think people are just sick of seeing the same thing over and over again. Is the OP a rant or is it an invitation for discussion, because it seems the former. Anyone with a brain knows that these types of complaints deserve a good ole' The OP claims to of been playing Elder Scrolls games for "ever and ever," yet he/she isn't even aware that gamesas isn't making the game. How many random angry fans come here without a lick of sense and blame Bethesda for this game? It's quite pathetic TBH. If you're going to complain, do it with some maturity and offer some constructive criticism that people can benefit from. The last thing this forum needs is another cry baby raging about how the game isn't what they expected it to be.
