El Salvador Gang Tattoos?

Nawww I'm just joshin', I'm going to make a Russian character because this is the first time we've been portrayed in video games as non faceless-snow-soldiers who go "AIYEEEEEEEE" and whose movements are easily predictable.

Depending on how VOIP operates I'm probably still going to go "AIYEEEEEEEEE!" though.
 But seriously though I love the diversity in the game.

I'm joining the military and I played CoD before I made that decision after I played the game... It doesn't mean anything. I believe that Video games rarely connect someone in the real world to the fictional world that the game developers made. If one really feel's so connected to a video game that they base their life around it there is something really wrong. I look at video games like I would a movie or book, A character may have some russian gangster tats but it is still a fictional character. Great topic OP.

I am El Salvadorian, and I agree the concern of affilating with very violent gangs because of tattoos. But to me, I don't see the tattoos as being a indication of wanting to be in a gang,or by choosing to add them to your character that you are in one of these gangs.I see it as method of further identifying your character. Not as a gang member, but to build on your characters backround. Having El Salvadorian tattoos ( to me ) simply shows that your character came from El Salvador, same with the Russian tattoos, and the Maori tattoos, this game is rated T, so by no means is it associating it self with gang actions which would instantly raise it to a M rating. I my self am going to use the El Salavadorian tattoos to honor my country. As I have never had the option of representing my home country ever in a game, and that's what I think the tats are there for, to respect someones backround, not to bring hate or discrimination

yes, and "gang" tattoos are a lot more than they are conceived as. people think theyre just a way to identify yourself with in a gang, but its also to identify your past. just the term "gang" is often exaderated.

i go to a school that has kids who are considered "gang" members, but theyre really just a group of friends who as a defence mechanism band together to survive growing up in west oakland.
the tattoos kids get tell their life story, like "RIP dad" and other things of the sort. i think they use the term "gang tattoo" loosely, and its really not that big of a deal.

El Salvador STYLED tattoos

Pretty sure that's the point. It's intended to replicate the aesthetics and influence, not the ideals behind it.
