Thief: The Dark Project. Stealth game. Scary stealth game. Extremely [censored] scary stealth game. Splinter Cell and MGS make you feel like a badass, while in Thief: TDP, half the time you feel like you're the one being hunted. :cold:

In fact, that feeling pervades the entirety of the Thief series, IMO, just not as extreme as in TDP.
QFT. T:TDP is the scariest of the series, which is pretty scary overall. Karras' voice is damn creepy.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines isn't a horror game as such, even though it's about vampires, but dat Ocean House Hotel <3

Yeah, it was creepy at first, but then i remembered that i'm a playing vampire, and said "screw you" to the... scary thing, without spoiling anything ;) But that mansion, and the sewers in Hollywood... :cold:

Homeworld: Cataclysm. Honestly the only time I've been terrified by an RTS.

Yes, the Beast, a lifeform from hyperspace (though in Homeworld universe hyperspace doesn't exist. Ships just open a temporary passageway with the Hyperspace Core :whisper:). Quite creepy concept behind it. In Skirmish and multiplayer you could play with the Beast, it's research method and UI was quite interesting.

Cryostasis is for real too. I flat out stopped playing when they asked me to go below water in the flooded portion of the ship. Hell no, sir.

The best part is. It can svck you into its mouth and it chews on you. If you have the god mode cheat on, you are literally trapped in its mouth listening to Ecco cry out as it sits there chewing on him until you restart the game.

I guess you could argue that Metro 2033 is a horror game, but I don't really count it as one. Either way, creepy as hell in parts. Especially the pipes. Good god, the pipes.

I found BioShock pretty creepy in places too.
Its got a good atmosphere, but I didnt find it scary/creepy. I loved the haunted metro.

Like the above guy said, dead money. that place creeps me out, and is difficult as hell.

Also the firs time you meet the flood in Halo CE.

I always thought the Hollywood mansion was more terrifying. Those Tzimisce Szlachta jumping out of the walls rattled my nerves first time through.
The Hollywood mansion was more slasher and things-jumping-out-at-you scares. I don't know, if you start with excessive gore and jump-scares, I always find it a bit cheap.

Fallout New Vegas Dead Money could qualify
Oh, I forgot Dead Money! That had a lot of atmosphere too.

Definitely that. I didn't think that Andrei's mansion was very scary, but the part at Death Mask's productions when you encounter those little Tzimisce pests for the first time scared the hell out of me. I found the Nosferatu sewers and Grout's mansion pretty creepy as well.

And if you don't have God Mode on, you get your tailfins booted back to the previous level, where you have to put up with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhZcUIT4qMs

Yea, Dead Money was scary, especially when the ghost people would breathe through their gas masks, and the surrounding fog made it even freakier.
