Should I trade skyrim for ME3

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 9:07 am

How? This decade has only been 2 years long so far. Unless they expanded a decade past 10 years, so 2009 wouldn't have been the end of the decade.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PC_Gamer_UK magazine highly praised Dragon Age II mentioning the improved combat system, dialogue wheel, skill-trees, and solid storytelling as its strong points. The game earned their "Editor's Choice" award and was stated to be, "The best RPG of this decade? Nine more years will tell, but for now, yes."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_age_2#cite_note-PCGamer-44

Origin.
Difficulty slider. That means if you want to play Mass Effect 3 you with full story you can't have full difficulty.
As an alternate ending you to can become a reaper, but in the first 2 you are trying to destroy them.
You forgot multiplayer.

I don't really know or care if my opinion falls into the minority or majority category, but for me ME2 was a massive step back from ME1. It felt like a very cheap RPG, though maybe this is because ME1 was so very, very good. Imagine my excitement to return to Citadel station after the epic events there... to find that the only "quests" available involve helping some Krogans figure out whether the fish in the artificial pond are real or fake, and leaving a crass voice-blurb at each of the half-dozen identical vendors that sold nothing at all for a discount I would never use. Maybe the game picks up later, maybe I just never gave it the chance it deserves, but I was already so bored by the absolute linearity that I simply lost interest after gathering my crew. I may go back sometime to finish the story, but honestly I'd just rather play ME1 again. And again.

Although I enjoyed ME2 as much as ME1, the very restricted access to the Citadel was indeed a pisser. I was really looking forward to aimlessly wandering around the Praesidium again rather than just being able to visit Anderson's office and look out over the balcony at it. Bah.

ME 1 is space opera shooter with some sort of RPG elements.

Think KotoR but worse.

So how's the freeroam???

I thought a couple of people had already answered that, but there's not much of it: there are a number of smallish (but often interesting) areas you can access either at any point or at certain times in the game, but both Mass Effects are pretty far from free-roaming. Although I like free-roaming, I don't think its absence detracts from them too much.

And worse. It's a good series, but not even close to KotOR.

Well, Skyrim wasn't that good and neither is the Mass Effect franchise, in my opinion anyway.

Get Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Wow, i think you are a very small minority, those 2 franchise are imo some of the best ever made.

That's a matter of perspective. ME being newer isn't.

1) Do you like third person shooters?

2) Do you like cover diving?

3) Do you like games like gears of war?

If yes to all you may enjoy ME3. I myself will be giving it a miss due to the fact that it is not an RPG which is a shame. :(

Then you will like mass effect. and for those saying the story isn't good, or the characters are bland, they are judging the game to harshly.

btw ME1 and ME2 are pretty cheap. I wouldn't trade Skyrim for them, but they are worth the little bit of money it costs to buy them

Have you played the other two games? Again, I would not recommend it unless you have.
