You have to invest time in a relationship to get time back. Treat your spouse nice, then they will let you play games.

Marry a nerd girl, not a entitled princess, then you can play Skyrim together

No trouble here. I work nights, so I on my days off there isn't much else to do in the middle of the night. Everything's closed and she's asleep.

Married with 2 kids under 6. I choose to settle for 1 to 2 hours a night after the kids are in bed and after my wife and I spend some time together. Family is more important.

Yep. Gamer wives are the bomb.

On the other hand, gamer wives *also* want time to play games. So sometimes stuff doesn't get done around the house and the kids end up making their own twisted, brutal civilization a la Lord of the Flies.

But hey, priorities.

My husband FINALLY became interested after watching me play.

Before that it was, "I can't find the checkbook!!" and "Did you do my underwear???!"

LET you play games? No offense but thats a whipped statement..my woman tried to mold me and run the show like most women do but i broke the mold long ago and do as i please.

It took many arguements before my woman learned im a tiger, a solitary beast that cant be tamed or controlled..i.dont need her so if she wants me around then she accepts that i have the final word

grow a pair man and tell her you'd rather play skyrim then watch her shows ;)

i get all my playing in after the wife and kid are asleep. she goes to sleep around 9:30-10pm most nights and i play until around midnight sometimes later on weekends.

luckily i can function on less sleep than she can!

it's all about finding balance. there are some nights that she just wants to read a book and i have free reign to play games or whatever. i always give her first right of refusal for what we should do... watch a movie, TV, board game, etc and it works out. i still play plenty of video games throughout any given week...

always remember HAPPY WIFE = HAPPY LIFE!

Charlie Sheen! Awesome, I didn't know you played Skyrim, let alone posted on the forum. What made you choose Haggar as your pseudonym? Sammy from Van Halen?

I'll be 65 later this year, and have been gaming since early 1982 - good old days of Atari 2600 and C-64 and the 300 baud modem.

I've been married since Jun 1971, and my wife is a gamer, too. However, she doesn't like scary games like Doom, Diablo, etc. So, she plays the Sims 1/2/3 with all their expansions, etc.

We both retired in 2007, and I play mostly all day and in the evening, with breaks here and there. She plays D&D table-top in the AM, Sims in the PM and in the evening.

I've almost completed Skyrim, just some mage college quests, and the entire bard quest chain. I have right around 600 hours on 5 characters.

So, on 15 May I'll be leaving and heading over to the devils' playground, where I'll try and save the world from destruction by Diablo and his minions in Diablo 3 which will be released by Blizzard that day. I've already downloaded the pre-load - 7.6 GB - just need the patch with the final changes which will also release the program for play. Interesting thing, Blizzard made it an on-line game - even though it's a solo player game - playable with teams with up to 4 players. Mainly because almost everything is on the server side to prevent hacking and botts.

I got married some time ago. I even announced it on my Skyrim modding blog. It was the best day of my life.

Finding time to mod and play games is no problem at all. She's a gamer too. We give each other gaming space. Peaceful mutual gaming coexistence. :D

When my wife married me she knew I loved video games. Just be reasonable about it; play but don't neglect your wife.

My fiancee gets nauseous watching me play this and a few other games so I play it at night time when shes asleep or when she isn't at home.

I am (though I haven't live with her for last 9 months and we are divorcing). Anyway I'm living with our three children which makes it hard to have time for games. So I play only when kids are sleeping. During their nap and at the night.
