Post » Tue May 08, 2012 3:18 am

I can't beleive this. Todd said in an interview this game has a random quest generator! OMG.. All hype went right out the window. Are u serious? In 2011 u added random quests to keep the player playing LOLOL wow. Just play warcraft..why play this? I'm mad now. Sometimes I hate having a video game hobby. Now I'm hoping the game bombs and other companies don't make this mistake.

Never heard of a MMO that have a random quest generator.

Plus it's not random, it's radiant.

I fail to see your point.

As far as I am aware, WoW doesn't have randomly generated quests- they have dailies and events, but they're scripted. I actually don't know of any MMO's that have randomly generated quests...

Really? They have talked about this for a year now!! Radiant Story, ringing any bells??

Btw, most quests are regular scripted quests. Add to that the OPTION of doing generated quests, and you have yourself a lot of playtime.

I don't understand why you seem to dislike this! I think a random quest generator is cool, you'll be busy forever! Do you see it as a cheap tactic? If so that's fine I can live with them adding a cheap gimmick into the game to make it appeal even more, sort of like Horde mode or Nazi Zombies. The only other reason I can see you disliking this idea is because you're concerned the game will be lacking in some areas due to them spending time on this random quest generator, and I assure you from leaked videos and spoilers I've witnessed, this isn't true at all...

It's just a cool feature that applies realism! People have issues all of the time, one of the examples was killing local bandits or finding herbs, it makes more sense that random issues arise over time.

Anarchy Online had random quests.

But that aside, I feel that hysteria is now begining to take over the board. I won't buy the game because it has never ending content? Next it will be complaining that the game doesn't come with testicle ticklers, and even if it did, it wouldn't tickle them right.

This.
There's no infinite amount of quests, the quests base off your character skills, he never once said it was infinite.

Why play this over WoW?

- WoW is an MMO, this is an RPG.
- WoW is not nearly as good as TES.
- TES is some of the best singleplayer experiences left.
- Not everyone plays on PC

Also, you're upset because you think Bethesda needs tactics like this to keep people playing the game. Well, guess what. There's no monthly subscription, so Bethesda doesn't need to resort to cheap tactics. They want people to keep playing the game because they love the game.

I get what the OP is saying. He just didn't say it that well. :)

I'm a little apprehensive on Radiant Story as well. Hopefully the generated quests are varied and creative enough that you wouldn't necessarily be able to tell that they are not scripted. What I'm afraid of though, is that they will just be endless variations of "Go to [dungeon] and slay [creatures] and bring me back [item] and I will pay you [gold]." But hopefully not.

There is a random generator quest system. But you guys keep defending this , I dont care. I know what I want to play. I'm disappointed in this. Now when your playing the game..how do u know if the quest is part of a story or some random fetch quest???

I think the proper term is "huge dynamic world". Bethesda can now use Origin's (company that created Ultima series) slogan.

"We create worlds."

Interesting. A single player, massively MULTIPLAYER online game. Even more interesting, I'm not aware of any MMO's that use random quest generators. I happen to play WoW on a regular basis and know for a fact they do NOT use them, so your insinuation that someone interested in this game should just play WoW instead is completely asinine. I certainly appreciate the idea of non-main quest line quests being randomized according to what you've done within the world. It makes for a higher replay ability for those planning on multiple play through's. Before you decide to post incoherent, rambling crap, try using some anger management skills to calm yourself.

Are you [censored]?

There is no [censored] random quest generator.

All quests are handcrafted, they conditions just change due to the RADIANT STORY.

Raging about random things that pops up in your head is best kept to your offline blog less you want to make yourself look like a complete idiot.
