I blame the console kiddies! I mean, this crap of a game was obviously targeted to that damn ADD CoD lovin' crowd. And Hell! Look at the PS3 that [censored] cant even handle Skyrim! Beth needs to ditch the [censored] consoles and go back to making real RPGs for real gamers, i.e. computers only.

There was no Arena made in Skyrim.

Spears and Crossbows were gone in Oblivion.

Open Lock invalidated Lockpicking,

First person horse riding... -_-

Portable alchemy.. -_-

Athletics and Acrobatics was beyond pointless.
Armor slots..true.

Atributes aren't that special.

Skills are there.

First and last time I reply to one of these threads.

Spears and crossbows gone: That's Oblivion's problem, not Skyrim's.

Spellmaking: Agreed.

Arena: Nords do not enjoy gladiatorial fighting. They prefer betting on bar-brawls and wrestling bears. They don't like crowding into stadiums to watch two people fight, they want to be the guys fighting.

Open Lock? Can't say this is dumbing down, but it is stupid it got removed.

First person horse riding: How does that dumb the game down?

Athletics and Acrobatics: As they were, they were stupid skills. I don't like that they are gone, but I'm not missing them, either.

Attributes: Agreed.

Skills: Elaborate please?

Those angry kids are what's killing this series. They settle for mediocracy and are nothing more then apologists. Beth has clearly shifted focus to the casuals and nobody should be apologizing for them besides themselves.

No, I'm not an apologist. Sure I'd like a lot of those things back, but most of them are not needed at all.

TES is still the best series out there for me. I don't give a damn about your opinion, really.

It wasn't that they were pointless (Acrobatics certainly wasn't! Especially after its mostly-brilliant implementation in Oblivion), but more the fact that they couldn't be leveled decently - Everyone jumps, sprints, and runs everywhere, even non-acrobat, non-athletes... allegedly.

Acrobatics and Athletics just made you run faster and jump higher. While I always liked maxing those skills, they weren't exactly a core skill, no?

Skyrim is a shell of this series past. Beth really went overboard with the gutting. What happened to spears? Crossbows? Spellmaking? Arena? Open Lock spells? First person horse riding? Portable Alchemy? Athletics? Acrobatics? Armor slots? Attributes? Skills?

Instead, we get dumbed down marriage which is a joke. Terrible writing. Dumb NPC's. Dumb followers. What a shame.

I agree with everything you have said.

The loss of attributes is terrible, I think the system needed to be rethought out but removed no.

Spell creation gone is a travesty, as are the old spells removal.
