Skyrim gets boring to fast

I sympathize. I suspect I might get a little bored of Skyrim in another few years.

When I get bored I quit playing for a while and at some point I know I will come back. It happened to me in Morrowind and Oblivion too.

We don't need older TES games, TES games like SKYRIM are the new thing.

Oh, that.
To me, that's actually one of the most important parts of playing an RPG. It definitely makes the game more enjoyable, and expands it beyond the usual boundaries the gameplay has set. That's the beauty of roleplaying, or computer LARPing, as you say.
Good point.

Not all people like doing pointless stuff,
RPing and seeing fruits of your actions is much more better, a little bit of pretending doesent hurt, but when balance is broken things go wrong

Hello there Jack Bauer 24. Hope all is well with you.

It fits the parameters. RP'ing requires using an imagination sometimes.

A blank sheet of paper or a static blue DOS screen are all perfect unsurpassable RPG tools then, which, by the way, won't set you back 60 bucks. Unless your real intent is to be provocative, I would advise you to post the alleged reasons that make SKyrim the best RPG ever, i. e., the features that allow one to RP whatever one wants better than previous titles or competing games. We can then discuss this on objective grounds and put your claim to test. Until then.

Those don't contradict, so you can do both. And "pointless" depends on the personal opinion and standards of the beholder.

You can RP whatever you want. This masterpiece is limitless.
While I admire your entusiams, I've got to side with the negative side on this one. :) The masterpiece is very limited.

As for why it gets boring, have you played 100 hours on the same character or over many different? I have a hard time playing a character over level 30-40, because by then I'll have all the good gear and weapons and skills leveled that I want to use... So I restart.

Well actually I have made alot of characters. for some reason I like my character to be very low level and keep it that way. I've had that not only with skyrim but with Oblivion, World of warcraft and alot of other roleplaying games.

This is my case, too. I simply can't get into playing a character that I deem too... strong. Usually, a character's best moments are below level 30. But I take care to dedicate some of those moments in creating the character's story and personality, so that they eventually don't just fade away, unfinished.

Howabout getting some additional value out of the game by downloading the Creation Kit and starting to make some mods of your own? Making mods is a fun game in its own right, and much simpler than many people think!

Same thing here. Skyrim doesn't feel like home to me. When I think of Oblivion, I think of the large and limitless forests, the lazy cities with the guilds, the big churches and random NPC dialogues. The opportunity to join factions and actually work yourself up in rank, instead of being the chosen one from the beginning.
I think of visiting Chorrol and feel warm. I think of visiting the Imperial City and feel overwhelmed. I think of visiting Whiterun and can only think "no, not that city again. Don't wanna hear this monk guy bubbling about Talos all day, hearing scripted conversations that repeat every time I enter, and quest hooks that are scripted to happen exactly the time when I enter or come nearer, being the same in every playthrough."
Besides, I also don't like the graphics. They look more realistic than Oblivion did by far, but something about it doesn't feel right. It doesn't feel comfortable to me. Can't explain why.

Oblivion feels home. Skyrim not.

This is exactly how I feel about the two games as well (except that I don't mind the graphics in Skyrim).

One of the things that svcks about the game to me is that lack of unique gear. There's just a handful of stuff that is unique. Oblivion had tons of unique pieces that made for some fun and dynamic gameplay. And the addition of the Shivering Isles only added to the number of those items. Dawnguard, while entertaining, didn't deliver in that regard. Definitely could have used some cool unique named gear with that DLC. Shivering Isles had that Dawn/Duskfang, Sheogorath's staff, Jyggalag's sword, and many more. Not to mention and entire plane of Oblivion to explore. Not just a couple new caves.

Skyrim feels more like home to me. Not sure why. The game just hits the right notes for me. It's got trees, snow, Khajiit, plenty of rugged terrain, tons of wonderful sounds, fun gameplay, and just tons to do and plenty of room for me to create more to do with my imagination. I can understand how this way of playing the game isn't for everyone. I roleplay, but the game can be tiresome just from playing it too much.

Yeah. I'd rather live in a tundra for some reason.

Oblivion and Morrowind are worth buying if you want to play them. They are both good games. Oblivion has many problems, but you can still have fun with it. Morrowind is pretty good, as well. Trying either out is worth it.

Yeah. I'd rather live in a tundra for some reason.

I prefer cold weather, as well. I only decided against moving out of Ohio when I've got my own bills to pay and the like because I just like it here. I would visit Alaska, though. Or visit the town where I was born(It's some place in Wisconsin) if I ever found myself there. I most likely would vacation in Kentucky's southern areas due to how much I liked it there.

I suggest that you play both. Though, note that neither of them is a "WOW-offline". Still, if you'd like to give them a shot, I recommend it.
