Edit: Kinda disappointed that it's a 9.5 and not a 10 I expected more from GI.

After a bit of discussion, we have decided to keep one thread in which to share reviews of the game and discuss those reviews. This serves to make a place where people can find many reviews at quick glance and share any they come across with others. It also helps keep other threads on the first page for discussion of the game instead of a mass of disconnected game threads. So here are a few I've gathered up and we will be closing other review threads and referring everyone here.

So far the reviews look great:
I expected some good reviews but I'm astounded how good and how many are so good. So I came to the forum and noticed we don't have many threads discussing the reviews and just wanted to start a thread where we could sort of keep up with them and discuss them.

I haven't read any reviews, I shared two reviews from two sources, but I'm glad I didn't read it besides the category scores, because someone said one of the reviews spoiled the entire first part of the gameplay/story.

gamepro.de: 93/100
videogameszone.de: 90%

reviews are all good so far. I think the least i've seen is 88. Everything esle over 90%

I personally dont read reviews either, but love to see the average score a game gets. It currently has a 95 at Metacritic, it would be crazy if this game does not receive GOTY.

There are now 43 reviews. Not a single one is below 90 out of 100. Only one conclusion possible: the game has to be very good.

Im not saying that skyrim is a bad game but most of those sites have to give games from bethesda a good score no matter what. Sometimes they are even paid to do so.

Floaty combat and minor glitches that could cause "lols"? I can live with that. Hurry up midnight!

I actually enjoying it now, I'm loving it. One of my absolute favorite changes are the cities. They are simply ALIVE now. Seems to be no more ghost towns.

I wish reviews were reviews again and not marketing speech....

I'm not reading the reviews yet but I'm sure enjoying the feelings expressed. This is the best part on the Metacritics page. Major accolades to the Skyrim team.

I am not questioning the greatness of Skyrim but how does a game get so many perfect score with so many negative comments about a major aspect of it, which is the clunkiness of Combat? From all the videos I have seen, combat, expecially melee, looks very boring.

But you are questioning the greatness. I just watched a dragon fight video using bow and sword and I didn't find it clunky at all. I'm not sure how many different ways one can shoot a bow or slash with a sword but I noticed the sound of nocking the arrow and I was delighted. I can't wait to do it. Maybe you'll just have to try things for a while yourself instead of deciding based on videos? I hope you decide it's good.

And thanks for this thread, summer. I hope you're not in the middle of the storms up there!
